The Independent Journal has a wonderful piece by Kurt Schlichter that you will enjoy.  He writes about the politics behind the silly poppycock screenwriting found on the new TV show, “Fear the Walking Dead”.

First, though, what is this new TV show?

Fear the Walking Dead is an American television series created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson that premiered on AMC on August 23, 2015.  It is a companion series and prequel to the horror drama television series The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

Forbes Magazine had a piece written by Paul Tassi on the show:

‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Is Already Falling Into A Stupidity Trap

…As soon as Travis said “you know how I feel about guns,” I knew this was going to be a problem. In the third episode alone, he blew up at someone teaching his son how to load and fire a shotgun, a shotgun which had literally just saved his life as it blew the head off an attacking zombie.

“Mommy, there are scary people outside trying to eat us. What shall we do?” the little girl says.
Mommy replies: “Let’s just sit here on the couch and talk about it.”

Then, Travis also dives straight down the “zombies are just really sick people please don’t hurt them” rabbit hole, where he tells his wife not to kill her neighbor friend. And lo and behold, when the neighbor’s husband comes home, she almost eats him because she was left alone to roam the garden with her skull left unbashed.

Travis is exhibiting elements of Lori (being way too protective of Carl) and Herschel (who kept a barn full of “sick” walker neighbors and family members), and audiences are having none of it, judging by the reactions to the latest episode.

A liberal solution to zombies

It would seem both the characters and the show are doomed, but here is Kurt Schlichter’s take on the politics behind the curtain:

The most political show on television today involves shambling ghouls that feed on human flesh and the meat puppets who try to avoid being feasted upon. “Fear the Walking Dead,” the “Walking Dead” spin-off set at the beginning of the zombie outbreak, offers us a view of the liberal, sensitive type of people who put Obama into office and – probably inadvertently – demonstrates the utter moral and intellectual bankruptcy of everything they believe in.

Ah, how liberals deal with zombies – in a TV series.

Gun-hating liberals’ first rule of the zombie apocalypse: Head to Abercrombie and Fitch and make sure you look stylish in fresh clothes.

That’s doomed.  If it makes it through a single season without cancellation, it’ll be a miracle.  It has even less suspense than the movie Titanic.  We all know anti-gun, feel-good libs are doomed when the going gets rough.

The author of this piece explains why very eloquently:

Modern liberalism is an unfortunate byproduct of civilization. The fact that our lives are not largely devoted to hunting and gathering food and fighting off marauders who would rape, enslave, and/or kill us, allows a large segment of our society to forget that this is the natural state of man. You didn’t have liberals in the Dark Ages because a liberal would last about ten seconds, expiring with a spear through his guts after telling the local warlord that he disapproved “of this patriarchal, phallocentric, cisnormative power structure.”

Contrast that with how most gun owners live their lives – certainly most GSL members at least:

Now, of course a substantial number of Americans pay tribute to humanity’s past by understanding human nature and often by preparing to confront the forces of chaos. These people are conservatives. We conservatives expect problems, and expect that we will have to solve them ourselves. We generally know how to hunt, to gather food, and we have guns and know how to use them. And we understand that society always – always – teeters on the edge of falling apart.

Liberals don’t – in fact, they actively reject the notion because to accept it would require a complete rethink of their assumptions and premises…

The anti-gun liberals mock the notion of personal responsibility and self-determination, as do the screenwriters at Fear The Walking Dead:

The liberal characters in FTWD would probably earn invites to sip pumpkin-infused craft beers at Josh’s loft. The two main adults work in a public school, and their parenting style consists of catering to the whims of a drug addict son and the most obnoxious TV teen daughter since the hated Dana from the first few seasons of “Homeland.” When the apocalypse gets underway, yet another son decides to hang out at a street protest over police brutality sparked when the cops cap a homeless guy-turned-ghoul – apparently #UndeadLivesMatter.

…They also undertake poorly thought-through, emotion-driven schemes that always end badly – in other words, they channel Obamacare.

The last paragraph of the piece is priceless.

That’s why it is the most political show on television now – at least until the original “Walking Dead” revs up again in a few weeks. It’s because every episode demonstrates the utter meaninglessness of the liberals’ obsessions in the face of a world where monsters are real, where the monsters are ISIS and the mullahs instead of zombies. So lock, load, and stop babbling about your feelings, because you can’t coexist with someone who is trying to eat your head, or to chop it off. Nonsense like “microaggressions,” “nonjudgmentalism,” and “fairness” can only exist in a world built and defended by macroaggressive, judgmental, and unfair people who carry guns and don’t hesitate to use them.

Emphasis added.

Yes, indeed.  There are real monsters in this world.

For instance, in some parts of the world run by monsters, gay rights mean they have a right to be thrown from a rooftop and then stoned to death.

  1. Should the zombies come out, anti-gun liberals will literally be useful idiots.

The zombies will be busy feasting on their flesh (is that a macroagression? LOL) while me and my family will be taking meaningful steps to survive.

I agree with the author when he says liberalism is a side effect of modern civilization. During the Middle Ages, those who espoused liberalism found themselves short-lived.

  2. Don’t forget to do your hair and makeup too!

One of my lib acquaintances can’t even air up a car tire. And he is married too. To a woman, no less.

    1. I had a guy who worked for me at my previous job call me on my break and ask me to come air up a low tire. He was at the gas station too!

I would say he should turn in his man card, but I’m not sure he had one to begin with.

  3. I think the protagonist’s feelings about guns will evolve over time. I predict that by the end of the season he will be carrying a S&W 44 magnum and an AR-15.

    1. Remember they are in Cali. There AR15s will have bullet buttons. They will have a problem when it comes time to change that 10 round mag.

  4. Very well-said. We all know, when disaster strikes, the liberals will be overcome with their emotions, wet themselves, and wonder where the govt is to save their special hind ends.
