Peace is good, but having options when bad guys with evil in their hearts come around is even better.

Today is the “National Day of Action” for “Whatever It Takes Day”, where anti-gun types prattle on about their feelings and emotions trying to sway the vast majority of America into their flawed world-view that the world is flat, when we all know it’s round.

Do these social justice warriors (or is it social media warriors?) think that posting pictures of themselves is going to get results?

Maybe so.  After all, it surely worked for Michelle Obama and her husband’s administration, right?

It’s symbolism over substance.

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg created this day with millions of dollars.  He will manage to convince a few die-hard radicals, and some well-meaning but misinformed individuals (otherwise known as useful idiots) to go out and protest, demanding that government take away everyone’s ability to defend our families from violent criminal predators.

People have a choice.  They can embrace the proven benefits of firearms ownership or they can ignore them.

But with decisions come consequences.

While the mainstream media might report about some of those demanding racist, classist and sexist gun control laws, you probably won’t read too many mainstream media reports about the deluge of ordinary Americans buying guns for the first time and learning how to use them effectively.  Take Chrystal T, the young woman pictured above.  She’s from the Bloomington, IL and recently spent not one day of meaningful action, but two, at a GSL Defense Training Essential Carry course at Darnall’s GunWorks and Ranges in Bloomington.

Chrystal

Chrystal spent the weekend reviewing gun safety, strategies for home defense, gun cleaning, nomenclature, gun ownership laws, how to avoid becoming a victim, safe storage of firearms and the use of firearms responsibly, ethically, legally for personal defense.  Shooting 250 rounds over two days, she spent hours on a range practicing everything from the fundamentals to malfunction clearing drills to basic defensive shooting tactics.  She practiced and she became far more proficient and safe using her handgun for self-defense.

She’s not alone.  There are millions of new gun owners in America since Barack Obama was elected.

They too can post images on social media.  Images that are every bit as persuasive and then some as the sad ones at Bloomberg’s bought and paid for astroturf activism website.

Getting back to Chrystal.  She had a choice:  She could rely on others to protect her and her family and hope they arrive in time, or she could take steps to protect herself and her family until the professionals show up.

She chose a couple of meaningful “days of action” – substance – and is better able to protect her entire family from bad people with evil in their hearts.

What will you choose?
