Like a good neighbor, a gun owner is there once more as a good Samaritan.

This time it happened in Charlotte, North Carolina, where a former prosecutor witnesses his elderly neighbor, hobbling from a gunshot wound to her leg, being shot at by her own grandson in an altercation.  The former prosecutor grabbed his gun and went outside to save his neighbor’s life.

Our good guy explained to the grandson, Degarrian Santonia Coleman, that he should drop the gun or else.  Degarrian (Dee-GAR-eee-an), in a hot-tempered, ill-advised moment, opted for the “or else” part of the equation and found himself with some new piercings.

He died a slow and painful death.

The grandmother is hospitalized, but she will be okay.

Wanna guess what the cousin of the deceased said?

She wished the former prosecutor hadn’t used deadly force.  Did she think whispering sweet nothings in Degarrian’s ear was going to dissuade him from further violence against his own grandmother?

The only thing that stops a bad man with evil in his heart is a good guy with a gun.

Good shoot.
