Chicago Police Superintendent, when he’s not drunk shooting out street lights, loves to call for more gun control to make up for his department’s inability to keep Chicago’s residents (and visitors) safe from violent crime in Chicago.

In all fairness, his men are doing a pretty decent job trying to keep a lid on things.  They are fighting some pretty entrenched criminal culture in the Windy City.

McCarthy ignores the real problems, and instead calls for more gun control laws like a one-trick parrot or a broken record.

“GUN CONTROL!  GUN CONTROL!” squawk!

Chicago police superintendent calls for more gun laws after deadly weekend
Ten people were killed over holiday weekend despite increased police presence. Garry McCarthy says flow of guns into the city must be stopped

Hey Garry:  Guns Save Life Chicago meetings right on your border are completely safe.  We attribute that to dozens of card-carrying good guys packing more than their good guy card.

What Chicago needs, Garry, is more good guys with guns, not more gun control.

How bad was it in Chicago on Independence Day?

(Chicago Tribune) – From 9:20 p.m Saturday until 4:45 a.m. Sunday, 30 people were shot across Chicago, three of them fatally, including Amari.

The other victims included a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl shot shortly after midnight as they walked in Old Town, and a 19-year-old man shot around 10 p.m. Saturday as two groups fought near Navy Pier after the fireworks display.

Yeah, nothing like dodging bullets in addition to pedestrian and vehicle traffic following the fireworks display.

Welcome to Chicago, home of the rich and vibrant criminal culture.

And a by-and-large disarmed victim pool.
