“NO GUNS” criminal protection zones are in a lot of places in Illinois. The zones prohibit card-carrying good guys from carrying their firearms, but do nothing for violent criminals intent on victimizing the innocent.
And predators prefer unarmed victims, which is why “NO GUNS” zones are popular with bad guys with evil in their hearts.
Libraries in Illinois are one of those “NO GUNS” criminal protection zones, including the Rockford Public Library where a man was found stabbed multiples times in the bathroom Monday afternoon. While some anti-gunners will say the sign worked – as the attacker used a knife instead of a gun – the victim of the attack would probably beg to differ as he clings to life.
ROCKFORD (Register-Star) — A man was found stabbed multiple times Monday afternoon inside a bathroom at the downtown Rockford Public Library, 215 N. Wyman St.
The stabbing was reported about 3:40 p.m.
Library patrons found the victim, a white male in his 30s, on the floor in the second floor restroom, Rockford Police Sgt. David Lee said.
The man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was listed in serious condition
Of course, there’s no suspect in custody.
