Criminal Rhonda Fields has sticky fingers.

Meet a co-sponsor of Colorado’s bill to ban shotguns and standard-capacity magazines, a two-time wearer of the silver bracelets and now Colorado State Rep. Rhonda Fields:

(Red State) – According to a Colorado Bureau of Investigations report obtained by Media Trackers, State Representative Rhonda Fields (D-Aurora) was arrested in 1976 on a charge of larceny and again in 1991 on a charge of shoplifting. Despite her own criminal record, Rep. Fields has sought to limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.

An apparent mugshot of Fields was posted to the Magpul Industries Facebook page by a private user after legislation to limit gun magazine capacity, which was cosponsored by Fields, drove the company to announce that it was closing its doors in Colorado and moving out of state.

Rep. Fields has sponsored multiple gun control bills currently under debate in the Colorado Legislature, including legislation to ban on magazines with the capacity to hold more that 15 roundscriminalize the private sale or transfer of a firearm without a background check, ban on concealed carry permits on the college campuses, and increase background check fees.

Today, Rhonda “sticky fingers” Fields is doing a fine job leading her constituents onto the gun control plantation to be good little slaves.

  1. Typicall how about our own bobby rush convicted felon and “former?” Black panther

  2. ….. 2nd try…..

Be critiqued for this reply but I think putting the spotlight on her past petty crime is nothing more than a smear tactic that I detest when I see the left do it to “our guys”.

Look, I’m pro 2nd amendment and very much against “assault weapons” or standard capacity magazines being banned. I DO involve myself with our cause ( I’ve sent emails to my local sheriff, police chief, rep, etc) and I’m 100% behind HB0997. I’m also a small business owner, Christian that attends church 4 days a week and I am the guy that helps little old ladies across the street or gives the proverbial shirt off my back to a friend in need but I’m also a recovering alcoholic/user (11 years clean/sober) who did get a DUI 22 years ago and I have been arrested once or twice in my life for “minor” crimes that were committed when I wasn’t as mature or responsible as I am now. Infractions that I’m not proud of but are in my past. …a past I cannot change.

If I were ever to run for office or take a public stand that helped my fellow brothers and sisters in this state or country in respect to securing our God given, constitutionally protected rights. … I’d really hate to see a mug shot surface from a time in my life when I wasn’t necessarily thinking right.

Point is. …people can and do reform. I am in complete disagreement with her agenda and think she is doing her state and this nation a disservice with her anti gun rhetoric. That’s the real and current crime. Focus on that. ..I dont think bringing up something she herself is most likely ashamed of from her past does our cause justice.

It (In my opinion) amounts to name calling.

For the record. ..I appreciate John for all he has done for our 2nd amendment rights and his contribution to our our state and this Site.

    1. Tom Tom, I appreciate your Christian charity and recognize its applicability to all of us. That said, I do not believe that it is wrong to bring Rep. Fields’ prior theft convictions into the discussion when criticizing her propensity to violate the Second Amendment. Unlike those who have had chemical dependancy issues, Fields has two theft convictions in a widely divergent time frame. To me, stealing from someone evidences a basic moral delinquency which has no business being close to the seat of representative government. Apparently Chicago voters are not the only ones who need to have their head examined.

    2. ” To me, stealing from someone evidences a basic moral delinquency which has no business being close to the seat of representative government”

I agree, however…her last conviction was in 1991. As a Christian, I’m of the mindset that sins can and should be forgiven. 1991 was a long time ago. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since that time. The sad truth is a huge percentage of the population has at least one or two skeletons in the closet. Ever tell a lie? Ever fudge on your tax return? Ever speed when in a hurry? Ever use a racial slur? Cheat on someone? Cover up for someone or something? Take an illicit drug? Steal yourself…no matter how petty?
Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
Look, let me reiterate. I’m against her agenda. I’m for CC, Im PRO 2nd amendment. I’m NOT an Obama supporter.
I’m on YOUR side. I wish she wasn’t in office….but not because she screwed up 22+ years ago and did something she shouldn’t have done. That does not mean she is still a thief today. I’m against her being in office because her authoritarian views go against my rights!
Some of our founding fathers had some major moral delinquencies that in the eyes of some would disqualify them from representing if they were alive still today. Conversely, if I found out that Mike Madigan heroically saved a Childs life 22 years ago and was a great philanthropist it wouldn’t change my views of him nor do I think he would get that credit in this blog but we are so quick to cast that stone when we find the slightest character flaw. I guess its human nature.
I knew I would be chastised for my post so I can’t get upset at you or anyone else that voices an opposing view. Anyway, it was just my two cents. I’m not losing sleep over it. Personally, I hope she gets voted out of office
Maybe it’s just because I’ve walked down that road, done things I shouldn’t have done, repented and received forgiveness, turned my life around and fight for the right today.
I’d hate to be judged by my twenty year old mistakes but rather praised for the good I do today. Judge her for her character today not what she did twenty years ago. There are a good deal of ex gang bangers with long rap sheets that have turned over new leafs and have become shining examples of how to live, act and give back. Some of those persons would make good state reps today, regardless of their past sins.
I’m not defending her theft nor am I advocating her agendas. Her political views quite frankly make me sick but that opinion is not swayed by her stupidity twenty years ago, it’s based on her stupidity today! 😀

    3. Ps.. For the record. .I cant stand thieves! I’ve had two deer stands, a trail camera and a brand new $6, 000 four Wheeler stolen from me (I didn’t have insurance on it yet but did still owe $5, 000.. That I faithfully paid off regardless)

Stealing is wrong.. period. . If it ain’t yours, keep your stinking fingers off of it! Oh BTW..I got caught steali. An Iron Maid cassette from K-mart when I was 16 years old (I’m 43 now) and that trip to the station put the fear of God in me concerning theft. I hope you don’t judge me for that should I ever run for office :-/

    4. Seriously, her past is a direct indication of her morals and the way she was raised, not an addiction. I personaly never stole ANYTHING in my 56 years becuase I was raised to know better. You will never convience me that little devil isn’t still on her shoulder temping her to do wrong. I wouldn’t want her sticky fingers anywhere near anything I worker for and PAID for.
If she walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and steals the other duck’s food……she must be a duck in an orange jump suit under that ugly purple shirt.

    5. Lol. .. point taken brother. I’m not going to defend my post to the point where I’m arguing or fighting with people I stand shoulder to shoulder with on issues I hold dear to my heart.

Was just my two cents. .. Like it or lump it. I still love my hunting, fishing and shooting 😉

See ya all at the range or next Igold!

    6. Keep the faith brother. We need to focus on what is important. Hell, I voted for Carter when I was a kid. What could be worse than that? We all have a past. Nothing can change it. It’s what we do today that matters.

  3. Nothing wrong with trying to see good in people but this example is crystal clear.
This last was a their long ago, got caught and didn’t learn her lesson. She got caught stealing again years later and now demonstrates she still hasn’t learned her lesson as she tries to steal people’s rights.

    Twice a thief – always a thief.

  4. What a great campaign ad picture this would make, how could anyone not win running against her. Or does this speak poorly of her constituents as well?
