Gun owners know these truths. At the same time, Scott Tallyn of Tallyn's Tactical Solutions in Peoria thinks that increasing the purchasing age for long guns to 21 "might help" reduce school massacres and violence. That's like a steak house claiming that PETA's vegan diets are healthier for not only people, but dogs as well.

PEORIA, Il. – …Central Illinois is reacting to the Presidents announcement. Gun control proponents have expressed little enthusiasm about the Presidents support for a new bill.
“We must do more to protect our children,” said President Trump.
In Peoria, Tallyn’s Tactical Solutions, which once sold the accessory bump stocks, has since taken them off the shelves.
“You're going to have some backlash, people already have them, probably a million of them are out there,” said Scott Tallyn, Owner of Tallyn’s.
The White House is also not ruling out that Trump may raise the age limit for buying military-style weapons an idea Tallyn agrees would help reduce black market purchasing.
“Right now it’s 18 years old to purchase a rifle, handguns you have to be 21 years of age, if they raise that 18 to 21 I don't think it’s going to fix everything it might help,” added Tallyn.

Tallyn's Tactical has some nice guns and some marvelous interior design talent.
It's a shame Mr. Tallyn knows more about selling guns that speaking to the media. Unless he's one of these gun company owners that thinks gun control is a good thing – like Mr. James Malarkey of X-Products.

I find it hard to believe that anyone that has met Scott would describe him as one that is selling us out. As far as the two stores are concerned, they cater to different segments of the market. Both are good stores.
He also has a couple dozen rifles on display with magazines inserted.
They look cooler.
He also had full auto and sbr class 3 stuff out in open on display too last time I stopped in.

First and foremost. during the interview with the television station, they cut off the next sentance that I said, I said that if I had to give up anything in light of all the gun and magazine ban discussions, this is the only area that I would give into. Keep one thing in mind, the media will share with what they want to share! That interview lasted 25 minutes! I’m not one to sell out my Second Amendment rights! So for all of you that want to believe what you want to believe, so be it!

I have shopped at ALOT of gun stores from Birmingham Alabama to here in Peoria and yes Tallyn Tactical Solutions! Tallyns byFAR had WAY BETTER customer service than any other and went above and beyond to educate! So imstead of calling out one of our own, and judging someone on CRAP the media makes you beleive, get true FACTUAL information by talking to the person being judged! I feel sorry for you all that beleive everthing the media says! So go to to the horse face to face for the facts before you say “straight from the horses mouth” amd judge someone!

The media uses cut and paste and uses things out of context. I believe when our government can stop evil people from using guns, I might listen. The government regulates opioids yet we can see how well that works , 40,000 dead last year. Opioids are banned as all drugs are, yet the bans have not worked. Regulate evil people is what I say.
Let’s all be honest here the media will turn anything that anyone says into what they want to hear and show. I can say that I have bought a total of 6 guns from Scott and a number of parts and accesories. I can also say I have bought 3 guns from three different stores and swore to never go back in them gun shops for a number of reasons…… do I expect to get a gun when going and looking to get one yes typically but we’re most gun shops you go in…. pay money sign your forms and after the waiting period, you go back and pick up your gun and walk away with no other thoughts given. You gain nothing but another firearm safely stored in your gun cabinet. But when I go to Tallyn’s Tactical Solutions….. which is the only gunshop I swear by now. I get treated great by every employee there they all know there facts and all want to help as soon as you walk in. These guys are some of the most knowledable people on firearms, accesories, and our rights as second admendment supporters! When I purchase a gun we go through what I will be using my firearm for to see what I could possibly use to help it fit my needs. He doesn’t just sell any brands he sells the ones that the believe to be worth your money and top on the market. He looks to see what’s going to be the best option no upselling or short changed on a cheap peice of plastic! When I come back to pick up my firearm Scott Tallyn personally takes the time to go through a complete break down, demonstration and luberication on the gun to make sure that the customer has full knowledge of the gun functions! That right there I think says a lot about the class and styler of Tallyn’s Tactical Soluntions they are ahead of our time and are strong on protecting the second admendment! They will also make sure that we are safe doing it as well! So all in all a class A gunshop, and the only ones I trust! Don’t let the media tear 2nd admendment supporters apart! They will say what the want but stop in and ask for Scott Tallyn…. let him show you that he is on the next level with customer service because I know he will!!!!!! The media just wants something that’s a quick fix so they twist words we all have seen it time and time again!!!
All who are reading this BS article! Please understand that Scott is genuinely for all rights afforded us by our great constitution!! He is a veteran of our armed forces & fights for gun right always!! I have only known Scott for a short time(1.5yrs), but he has changed my way of thinking towards guns as tools for good!! If you visit his shop & give him a chance, he will change your life! I promise, you will be grateful for having met this man. You all should be ashamed for believing the media anyway!!! Have they not proven their evil ways to everyone by now??? Grow up people, they are just trying to divide us all.

This is all you need to know……never, ever trust the media. I was once told by a journalism professor at SIU, years ago, that the job of “media” is to sell advertising and you do that by creating controversy thus creating public interest and then sell advertising because of the interest you falsely created. That’s there agenda or part of it. His error was granting the interview .
So let me get this straight …..

Clearly the author isn't a customer of the Tallyn's shop, otherwise he'd know what I and hundreds of others know about the owner and where he stands.
I've seen the Gun News newspaper in his shop. I get my copy there. He supports Guns Save Life and you dont even give him the courtesy of an email for clarification of his statement ?

I am a retired law enforcement guy that is pro gun and pro 2nd amendment. I have known Scott Tallyn for several years and purchased guns from him. Scott served in the military and has his gun store as he has the knowledge and expertise to put some guns together. The news broadcast , cut off many sentences and tried to make it sound like he wanted changes. He does not. He said if the law is changed on the rifle age to 21 that it could help. He doesn’t want the change. In Illinois the state is attempting to pass a bill to regulate all gun stores., existing one and new ones. The state of Illinios want to charge gun stores. Then they will try a surcharge on each gun. In Cook County, the most corrupt in the state, has put surcharges on bullets, yes 5 cents per bullet. Enough about the corruption trying to make the 2nd amendment disappear. I saw a few remarks about trusting the media, this is very true. Tallyn Tactical Solutions has awesome displays on the wall. I have not seen short barreled rifles there, he has the short guns with an arm brace. They are short and ATF declared them legal, and classified them as GUNS. So yes they are legal and on display. Before anyone jumps on a media band wagon, go talk to Scott. I know for fact no one will leave with any doubt his stand on guns being 100% pro gun, pro 2nd amendment..
Why all the fuss over Scott Tallyn? His actions speak louder than his words. And his words…as spoon fed to us…..simply do not, based upon my own extensive conversations with Scott, provide the totality of his position. I can personally offer that Scott is intelligent, extremely competent when it comes to firearms, a veteran, and a strong supporter of our Second Amendment and the USA. I consider it a privilege to know Scott and to do business with him and his store. His firearm products and service are second to none. I encourage everyone to stop in and meet Scott to see if my words ring true. I am confident that you will not be disappointed.
This is all started from media people. The same station that blasts our hometown police, who protect us day in and day out. The media does anything to get that reaction out of you. I work for the local pd of Tallyns Tactical, and if there is one guy I trust with a gun store it's Scott! Scott does everything in his power to help the legal carrying citizens and officers of his community and of those that travel from far away. Scott was asked by the media if he "had" to budge on one thing, what would it be. He obviously doesn't want to move any guns laws besides in our favour. However he chose the age limit because the news channel threw in the "if he had to choose" question. He then followed that by saying , he doesn't think it would help. All I ask is that you guys get the full story before blasting something. Scott and his shop are awesome, I challenge you to visit it, and I'll leave this at that!
Once again media is trying to stir stuff up. I'm sure the interview was long then this and edited to fit their agenda. Go into the store and actually talk with Scott and you will hear his opinions first hand not from the media. As for bump stocks who really cares they kill your accuracy anyway and never really heard shit about them anywhere till the vegas shooting. So go get the full story before blasting someone on the internet over something that was on tv and manipulated. Go in their and meet him and his staff, I think you will have a different opinion if you actually go in and see for yourself.
This article is a bunch of nonsense to be blunt. I have been an instructor in the law enforcement and intelligence sectors for over 15 years I can tell you first hand Scott is one of (if not) the best in the industry. He is only one, I trust with my firearms and I have over 10 custom tactical builds from him alone. He is professional, knowledgeable and a true friend. Anyone that has experienced him or his business will say the same, it's impeccable. Shame on those that try to play politics like this, or cut a film to play into their propaganda, or the individuals that have no experience with him at all trying to make stupid half ass comments like what I see above.
