Anti-gun Illinois-Dems file new garbage bills in 2019

February 1, 2019

garbage arrives

By Mike Keleher

Well the liberal anti-gun agenda has taken off like a big jet with this new state legislature. Bills have been hitting the capital steps with wild abandon in the snowy and cold month of January.

A number of sweeping and awful bills have been introduced to the House and Senate…each more more ludicrous than the next. Is there some sort of competition going on to see who can file the worst and most comprehensive anti-gun bill in Illinois?

These are a series of anti-Second Amendment bills pretending to be "reasonable gun legislation." Garbage legislation if you will, and all designed to promote the anti-gun initiative and "solve" problems all of the other Illinois criminal and firearm laws have somehow failed to address or fix throughout the history of the state. Modern mindset that "we are the only ones who are enlightened enough" keep the legislative seats filled and supported by the liberal media who also think Socialism is the right way to govern and somehow Trump is not their president.

It is most likely these bills are just being put up as public relations pieces to show constituents how "serious" their new state congress people are on topics that touch us all-err, I mean topics that touch Chicago. Will any of these onerous bills make it into law? I doubt it, but the problem is if you throw enough crap on the wall some of it just might stick-especially if no one pays attention and opposes these bills, or they get bundled with some other bills in a sweet heart deal.

Remember when anti-gun legislation was too hot of a topic for Democrats to put out in front of the voters? Now the sky is the limit and it is running loose nationwide.

Hang on to your collective gun product logo hats and don't put any beverages in your mouth just now since your risk shooting it out of your nose while reading further. Here is a list of some of the anti-gun right/anti-Second Amendment bills filed in Springfield this month. Don't take my word on it, use your own filters to measure how offensive they are, and just how many law abiding firearm and ammunition owners could be turned into criminals-all in the name of crime reduction or political correctness. If these bills don't make you mad you may need to check your pulse and NRA card to see if either of them has expired.

House Bill 1586 – Serialize all bullets and impose mandatorily track all ammunition transactions in the state.

If passed, beginning January 1, 2020, all handgun ammunition manufactured or imported into the State “for sale or personal use, kept for sale, offered or exposed for sale, sold, given, lent, or possessed shall be serialized.”  (Despite the fact the technology is not used in the world-wide ammunition industry, it should somehow be started in Illinois in the next 12 months! Shades of the failed California plan to have all firing pins stamp serial numbers on primers-another technology that only existed in one company which purportedly had ties to Gov Arnold S at the time.)

Text included how the State Police “shall maintain a centralized registry of all reports of handgun ammunition transactions reported to the Department in a manner prescribed by the Department-oh and they would tax these now accounted for bullets to pay for their administrative costs involved with counting them. If the bill passed into law the simple possession of a non-serialized/registered bullet would be a Class C Misdemeanor.

Senate Bill 107 – OUTRIGHT BAN on Semi-Automatic firearms.

Yep, here is another HUGE open ban on ALL rifles and pistols which can accept a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds and shotguns that could possibly hold more than 5 rounds and even parts that could facilitate high capacity would be banned.

“• Any semi-automatic rifle or handgun that can accept a detachable magazine greater than ten rounds in capacity and has one or more features, such as a protruding grip for the support hand; a folding, telescoping, or thumbhole stock; a handguard; or a muzzle brake or compensator.
• Any semi-automatic shotgun that has one or more feature such as the ability to accept a detachable magazine; a folding, telescoping, or thumbhole stock; or a protruding grip for the support hand.
• Any fixed magazine semi-automatic rifles or handguns greater than ten rounds in capacity and fixed magazine semi-automatic shotguns greater than five rounds in capacity.
• Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.
• Any part or accessory that would configure a firearm as above.”

House Bill 888 – FOID Applicants must provide Social Media Accounts to State Police for Exploitation and Review.

This stinker would require Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (FOID) applicants to provide a comprehensive list of their social media accounts to the State Police as part of the FOID application process and the State Police would conduct a search of the accounts to insure they have another potential reason to deny this already failed card as part of “crime control.” For anyone already familiar with the backlog of FOID card applications imagine those few state workers who process them by the thousands each year sitting on the internet reading hours of content in conjunction with such an application. Ridiculous and 1st Amendment challengeable.

House Bill 899 – If you suffer three gun related thefts in two years you forfeit FOID rights.

Let me get this straight, if you are the victim of a crime you will be punished by the state…um yeah we don’t think you are “doing it right” at your house.   “Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act and the State Police shall revoke for one year the Firearm Owner’s Identification Card of a card holder who reports to the local law enforcement agency his or her firearms lost or stolen in 3 separate incidents within a 2-year period. Provides that any law enforcement agency that has knowledge that a card holder has reported his or her firearms lost or stolen in 3 separate incidents within a 2-year period shall forthwith forward that information to the Department of State Police. Provides that an “incident” means an occasion in which the card holder’s firearm or firearms have been lost or stolen regardless of the number of firearms stolen in the incident and the report of the loss or theft of the firearm or firearms on one occasion shall be considered one incident.

House Bill 892 – “Undetectable Firearms”, 3D printed guns and guns with plastic/polymer materials.

This bill extends bans far beyond current federal laws which already ban X-ray “undetectable” firearms and could be used to ban many currently legally owned firearms with modern materials that are not actually “undetectable.” My state legislator wrote back to me about his sponsorship of such a bill to stop 3D printed guns…which of course have never been involved in a crime. He was very proud of his efforts and by Gosh going to nip that potential crime spree in the bud.

House Bill 174 – Lost or stolen firearms must be reported within 72 hours.

Well it is a fact a large number of firearms used in Chicago’s outrageous crime rates are stolen guns, and not legally purchased by criminals (Wait, you mean criminals don’t follow the rules? When did that start happening?). So, this bill would make it an offense for a person who legally owns or possesses a firearm and then has it stolen from them, MUST report the loss or theft to the police within 72 hours or be charged with a Class A misdemeanor, and if it happens again bumps it up to Class 4 and Class 3 felonies. Extrapolating here I guess if you are a victim of a crime you have to report the crime in case your property is used in another crime-does it stop with just evil guns, or does it rock on with stolen cars and stolen identities?

Senate Bill 0121 – Create a Mental Health Services Fund-Tax bullet sales to pay for it.

Thumbs up for expanding Mental Health Services – but why must bullet sales fund it?  Do bullets cause mental illness? I know if you eat enough of the lead ones it can build up and become toxic.  I guess they have already over taxed cigarettes/alcohol/gasoline and the lottery so there must be some other funding stream, so why not bullet sales?  Cook County already has a bullet tax and look how effective it is in lowering their crime rate! Yes sir! I know the day will come when they find a street hood who will testify, he did not shoot someone because he could not afford the box of bullets with the nickel a piece tax on them.

House Bill 1467 – State recording of all ammunition sales.

People and businesses would be required to keep records of all ammo sales to include date of sale, purchaser name, DOB, address, FOID card info and type and amount of ammo sold. Once again, this idea prevents crime how? Well if there is a crime they can check to see if you bought the ammo. I guess they must be super effective using this type of logic with registered cars involved with DUI’s.

Senate Bill 0089 – Firearm Safety devices required with sale.

Anyone selling or transferring a firearm would be required by state law to also provide a locking device or be fined at least $1000.00. Trigger locks provided by manufacturers at point of original sale have been used for a couple of decades now-no issue with that, but this bill would make even individual owners in private sales supply a locking mechanism. Responsible gun owners should secure their firearms-but the law doesn’t make people use them in actual practice.

Senate Bill 021- BAN ALL LEAD HUNTING AMMUNITION.

Welcome back to California people of Illinois! This originally popped up in the sunshine state to save the few remaining California Condors-all lead ammo was banned in area where they might fly….yeah let that sink in…the idea being animals shot with lead bullets might be eaten by the 463 remaining Condors and poisoned…despite the fact there was no documented  case of a Condor dying of second hand lead poisoning. They banned all lead bullets from the entire state on this stack of Unicorn poop!  Here in Illinois this bill would ban all lead ammo from the state-for no stated reason and amazingly lets one dangling sentence “Provides that to the extent that funding is available, the Department shall establish a process that provides hunters with nontoxic ammunition at no or reduced charge.” Whoo, that is a good one right there. I imagine the state coffers would be even more empty (bankrupter? ) if droves of hunters and shooters stared lining up with cases of lead ammo outside state offices! Not gonna happen.

House Bill 0367- Making it criminal for a Federal Firearms License holder to have three or more guns they sold used in crimes within five years of the date they sold them.

Yeah, it’s that kind of stupid. The state would impose strict liability upon gun dealers who sold guns that were later used in crimes within five years. C'mon man!  Looks a lot like those old and unsuccessful civil law suits against gun manufacturers trying to hold them liable for misuse of their products by live human beings. This is just open and aggressive law making with impossible to meet standards to squelch firearms sales by federally licensed gun dealers.

Imagine if anyone of a more conservative mindset introduced even one bill that was pro-gun this year. Imagine.

Oh boy; looks like the Bolsheviks are in full bloom. Karl Marx must be having a wet dream in his grave with all of this wonderful communism now coming to the surface in the not so great state of Illinois.

And just think of all the gun owners, conservatives and Christians in Illinois that decided to stay home last election because the dumb fools thought Rauner was the devil.

Now they are going to learn what real evil looks like.

Welcome to Illinois. Land of Karl Marx

  3. Puttingthetruthout on February 1, 2019 at 4:20 pm

Uh, just to be clear…..Rainer IS evil, immoral and was completely unworthy of a vote. Pritzker is no better, most likey worse…… But that doesn't mean that having Rauner in office would have been any better.

We need to concentrate on the big picture.

People also need to stop trying to blame "conservatives, Christians, and gun owners that didn't vote"…… This statement is non productive and is nothing more than a cop out for old white men to try and place blame on someone.

We need to stop wasting time lamenting the past, and just start playing the hand we are holding.

    Wake up

        Funny….. That's the same hand I see.

Toe tips are touching the line in the sand.

      Puttingthetruthout,

Just because former governor Rauner wasn't as consertive as most of us would have liked does not mean he was "evil", he had a tough uphill battle with Madigan, who I believe is the "evil" one that shut down everything Rauner tried to do.

Not much was advertised about Rouner giving back his salary, remodeling the governor's mansion much of it with his personal donated funds, and revamping the colleseim at the state fairgrounds, much of which were funds from him personally, NOT taxpayer funds. I think Governor Rauner loves Illinois and wanted to make our state better and I believe he did his best, if he would have had some help from the obstructionist party rather than struggling practcly alone, our state would be much better off now and he might have survived for another term.

You are right, we must play the hand we have been dealt now and must fight tooth and nail to preserve our God given constitutional rights against those now in super power wanting to restrict law-abiding citizens rather than focus on crime control.

Pritzker and Madigan together with super majority in both houses of the legislature will have it all their own way so fight we must and take everything we can to the courts to try to overturn. I love my state of Illinois but our politicians need to be held accountable to the Constitution and to we the people to make our state better. I hope and pray we can.

Wake up and know the enemy,,,the Mike Madigan regime. Demon-rats everywhere, they are the devil.
