Chicago: It isn’t a great place to live and it’s getting to be not such a hot place to visit, unless you like a helping of criminal victimization in your life.
Crime has skyrocketed this year for a host of reasons and it’s going to get a lot worse and we’ll tell you why: Word has it over 1000 Chicago cops are set to retire between now and January 2017. The department has shrunk by 2,000 officers gradually over the past few year, but to lose a thousand cops in six months? Second City Cop writes “The department will collapse. Literally.”
That’s not all: The mayor doesn’t support the police, but instead writes character reference letters to agitators who behave badly.

CHICAGO (ABC7) -Chicago activist Ja’Mal Green is off electronic monitoring after a court hearing Tuesday. He is also allowed to post on social media.
Green was arrested earlier this month at a demonstration against police shootings.
He is charged with hitting a Chicago police officer and trying to take his gun.
But on Tuesday, a judge agreed to lift Green’s curfew after his lawyer submitted letters from several supporters including Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Father Michael Pfleger.
Yep, gun-hating Mayor Rahm and rabidly anti-gun (but travels with armed bodyguards) Father Michael Pfleger write letters of support the punk Ja’mal Green is charged with:
(Chicago Tribune) – …As they left the Taste of Chicago Saturday evening, an officer saw Green climb a fence and ordered him to get down.
Green threatened the officer, saying he was “going to beat his ass” and stood face to face with him, swinging his arms, prosecutors said. Green was allowed to continue the protest, but later struck a police commander, George Deveraux, in the shoulder, prosecutors said, a moment captured by a Chicago Tribune photographer.

Green also spit in a police officer’s face, prosecutors said.
Green was allowed to continue in the protest until, on Michigan Avenue near Water Tower Place, he grabbed the duty belt of a police captain about an inch away from the officer’s service revolver, prosecutors said.
A police lieutenant pulled Green’s arm away and attempted to take him into custody but Green resisted, saying, “You’re going to get it – I’m going to have your badge,” prosecutors told the judge.
Yep. Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel says it was just a big misunderstanding and Ja’mal is a good kid.

6-year-old girl shot, critically wounded in West Englewood
(Sun-Times) – A stray bullet hit a 6-year-old girl who was sitting on her front porch Tuesday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood, leaving her in critical condition.
As Tacarra Morgan sat with her mom and grandmother on the front steps of her grandparents’ home in the 6000 block of South Paulina Street about 1 p.m., a shooting began to unfold a block north.
Someone in a white sport utility vehicle opened fire on a group of people standing in the 5900 block of South Paulina, CPD First Deputy Supt. John Escalante said from the scene of the crime.
Several people from the targeted group began running south. The shooter from the white SUV pursued the group and again opened fire.
“Shots were fired southbound, and unfortunately this poor little girl just happened to be out in front of her house,” Escalante said.

Black Lives Don’t Matter to criminals as most (nearly all?) of this violence is black-on-black.
But that doesn’t mean the law-abiding won’t find themselves serving as the backstop for an errant criminal’s bullet or victim of a beating, robbery, rape or other serious attack as criminal predators are running wild in Chicago.
Given how the Chicago Police Department is shrinking, and its lack of support from residents and the mayor, and a growing number of criminals brazenly plying their trade, it’s a bad time to be in Chicago.

Police recruitment is down across the country as the anti-police rhetoric gears up. Police hands are tied in Chicago, with pages of reports for every stop and those reports reviewed by the ACLU why bother to check out the know criminal with a suspicious bulge in their pocket? Takes more time to complete the paperwork than it does for some liberal judge to release them and the thug to obtain another weapon for their homies.
I’m wondering how much longer it is before the talking heads of MSM start regurgitating hints of martial law “temporarily to quell these civil disturbances”. Probably long enough to postpone the November elections, especially if it looks like the right will take over across the country.
