It takes a special kind of stupid to commit a home invasion in Texas where there’s a gun on average for every man, woman, child and illegal alien.

That didn’t stop this rocket surgeon from trying to take what wasn’t his after smashing down the door to an occupied apartment in Clear Lake Texas.  Victims aren’t the only ones who suffer adrenaline rushes and other stresses to the body during criminal incidents.  Bad guys do as well.

This particular bad guy suffered a heart attack after the occupants disarmed him and held him for the police.  It’s not nearly as dramatic or bloody as getting perforated, but the ending is still a happy one for all except the bad guy.

Clear Lake, Texas (KPRC) – A man died after he tried to break into an apartment in Clear Lake, according to Houston police.

Officers received a call about a home invasion at about 12:55 p.m. in the 2000 block of Bay Area Boulevard Sunday.

Police said the suspect broke into the apartment, but several people were inside. The residents held the suspect until police arrived.

It is believed the man had a heart attack, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Speaking of stupid, there’s no shortage of it going around among criminals.  In Boston, one member of a home invasion quartet searching for marijuana gave himself a partial foot amputation with his own sawed-off shotgun.

BOSTON (WCVB) —Police arrested a Somerville man who literally shot himself in the foot during an armed home invasion in the North End early Sunday morning.

Police responded to reports of a home invasion at 77 Endicott St. in the North End at midnight.

Responding officers spoke with a woman at the address who said she was staying with her boyfriend when his apartment was robbed by four men, two with knives and one with a sawed-off shotgun.

…Nikolas Angelesco, 19, of Somerville, was arrested and charged with armed robbery, home invasion and kidnapping.

And speaking of stupid, in Redland, Florida, homeowners have been complaining to police about a rash of burglaries in their area.

That was all solved in the last week or so by a 77-year-old man, who unarmed would be no match for a couple of young thugs who broke into his home at 1pm in the afternoon.  His nickname must have been “Deadeye” because he perforated both bad guys with multiple shots to the chest.

One died, saving taxpayers in Florida big bucks, and the other is trying to suck up those savings getting the finest medical treatment to save him from his wounds.

After the incident, the local media interviewed neighbors and found this one:

“You know what, I think it’s good because I’m tired of this. We are not here to you know to kill people, but if you go to my house, I have two kids and if you go to my house, be careful,” Olga Dahl said.

In nearby Jacksonville, Florida, a trio of home intruders thought busting into an apartment at a popular student apartment complex was a great idea.  You know, to take what didn’t belong to them while threatening peoples’ lives.  All three got lead supplements for their efforts, including one who suffered an overdose.

Bryant-CollierJACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WJXT) – Three men were shot and one of them was killed Monday morning at a Southside apartment complex that’s popular among college students, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO said that the shootings resulted from a home invasion robbery and according to reports, police found 27-year-old Bryant Jerald Collier dead at The District apartments on Kernan Boulevard South.

Police have said that he is one of two suspects who took part in the home invasion robbery. Collier (pictured) was arrested in 2013 and 2011 for drug possession.

The second suspect, and the victim of the home invasion were also shot and are being treated at a local hospital.

“All three people were at the apartment complex during the shooting, and they all received their gunshot wounds from that shooting,” JSO homicide detective Michael Paul said.

And lastly we turn to Smithfield, NC, where home invaders who made off with $27,000 from a 77-year-old woman a few weeks ago came back for seconds.

Unbeknownst to them, she had armed herself in the meantime.  This time she was ready and despite being wounded in the shootout, the bad guys fled with shorts full of fecal matter.

Smithfield, N.C. (WRAL)— A Johnston County woman was wounded late Thursday during an apparent home invasion, but she got some shots off herself at the fleeing intruders.

Barbara and Sam Temple were in their home on N.C. Highway 210 near Smithfield at about 9 p.m. when two men broke in, Barbara Temple said.

The home had been burglarized a few weeks ago, when thieves made off with $27,000, she said. After that, she bought a 9-millimeter handgun for protection.

During Thursday’s break-in, Barbara Temple said she grabbed her gun.

“When I got the gun, they realized that I had that gun, and that is when my leg got hit,” she said.

Despite being shot in the leg, she opened fire on the intruders, who ran off without taking anything from the home.

  1. At least the woman who lost $27,000 learned from her mistake.

Unlike some people who get victimized over and over because they aren’t smart enough to learn from past experiences.

    Thanks for the great stories.

    God bless America.

  2. Another story about stupid people and guns – Back in the 1970s, there was a gas station on a busy corner in the north end of Springfield, IL (home state of the killing field known as “Chicago”). Two of the male gas station employees thought it would be cool to spy on women visiting the restroom. Their vantage point would be a hole in the ceiling, but how to make a nice clean hole? An obvious solution to most of us would be a drill, but these two guys must have thought a drill to be too complicated to operate. So they decided to poke a hole in the ceiling with a projectile fired from a gun. The guy below would fire the gun and the guy in the attic would “catch” the bullet with a block of wood. Either they got their signals confused or the guy below missed his target. Anyhow the guy above got shot and had to go to the hospital ending their dreams of free peep shows. I’m afraid to do the research as to what ever happened to these two guys, but there is a good chance they are about to retire from high level positions at the National Security Agency (NSA).

  3. Angwlesco should have done us all a favor and shot his junk off instead. Epic fail there. Imagine the “cred” – or lack thereof – he will get in prison. His nickname will be shoeless. Or gimpy.
