Examples of “Children” from Chicago that some believe we must “protect”.

Gun control extremists and other, like-minded sycophants love to publicize what they describe as an “epidemic” of children being injured or killed by “gun” violence.

It isn’t until you dig under the hood that you’ll find they love to consider “children” anyone aged 19 and under.

Take the story in USA Today “Epidemic: Guns kill twice as many kids as cancer does“.

Here’s the first paragraph:

ASBURY PARK, N.J. — Most victims of gun violence in 2010 were not on a battlefield or remote hillside in the Middle East fighting in a war. They were, like 6-year-old Brandon Holt, children and teenagers in America, according to the Children’s Defense Fund.

How terrible, right?

It’s not until the sixth paragraph of a twelve-paragraph story do you discover that they are counting everyone under age 20 as a “child”.

Let me share another story. (h/t to Days of our Trailers)

It’s from Joliet, Illinois and happened last Friday night shortly before midnight at a going away party.

This wasn’t a party to celebrate someone going away to do missionary work or to take a job in a far-away city.  This was a going away party for someone leaving to serve a prison sentence.

It was advertised on social media and seven thugs from Chicago showed up.  They weren’t known by the others at the party and during a dice game (cough. gambling. cough.) in the basement of the house, a fight broke out and two of the Chicago interlopers pulled guns and began shooting the place up, wounding three “children” attending the party, and a 20-year-old as well.

After the smoke cleared, did they call the cops?

Hahahaha.  Do you think that these low-life pieces of pond scum wanted the cops to find any illicit alcohol, marijuana or other drugs, stolen guns, drug paraphernalia or people with warrants?  It was a going away party for a convict!

The police didn’t find out about the shooting at the party until they went to the hospital to interview the “victims” as they were being treated for gunshot wounds.

Of course, the Chicago seven were gone by the time police finally arrived at the scene to look for evidence.  Or just as likely, the “Chicago seven” might have been a made-up story to conceal the true identify of the shooters.

So, there’s three more “children” injured by “gun violence”.

Doesn’t that motivate you to advocate that all of America’s good guys surrender their right to self-defense and give up their guns to make the world a safer place for our “children”?

No, it doesn’t for me either.

If anything, it makes me want to carry a bigger gun and more ammunition, because the lesson here is that bad guys often don’t travel alone.  They prefer groups, because in the end, they are ultimately just bullies.

  1. “It’s for the children” is nothing but another vague politically inspired phrase meant to soak your pocketbook and steal your rights based on the actions of minors.Much anti-gun legislation abrogating the 2nd Amendment rights of adults is based on the illegal actions of minors or so-called minors. Some data uses ages as high as 25 when talking about “children” to cook the books.

  2. “If there’s even one step we can take to save another child or another parent or another town from the grief that’s visited Tucson and Aurora and Oak Creek and Newtown and communities from Columbine to Blacksburg before that, then surely we have an obligation to try.”

Well, Barack – here’s your chance! Lock these thugs up and throw away the key.
