State Representative Carol Ammons (D-Urbana), the Bernie Sanders-endorsed Democrat Socialist and rabid gun-grabber who co-sponsored PICA — Illinois’ unconstitutional assault weapons and magazine ban — has been indicted by a federal grand jury along with her husband, Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons. Along with their daughter Tatianna.
While Ammons loudly advocated for gun control for the little people. She also supported, promoted and co-sponsored legislation supporting prison inmates, re-entry programs, and leniency toward criminals. Behind the scenes, Ammons and her family were “allegedly” busy enriching themselves through a multi-year kickback scheme that preyed on taxpayers and campaign donors.
From 2017 to mid-2025, prosecutors say she paid herself and daughter Titianna inflated campaign funds, demanded cash kickbacks, filed false reports with the State Board of Elections, and steered over $1 million in state grants to nonprofits that employed her daughter — all while ignoring conflict-of-interest rules. The family allegedly pocketed more than $100,000 in illicit gains. When investigators closed in, Aaron Ammons reportedly coached witnesses, suggested coded language, and tried to “muddy the waters” with the FBI.
This is the same Carol Ammons who championed policies that coddled criminals while doing nothing for the productive citizens, small business owners, and crime victims repeatedly brutalized by the very hoodlums her legislation empowered. She voted for and sponsored PICA to disarm law-abiding gun owners, backed the SAFE-T Act and bail reforms that released dangerous repeat offenders back onto the streets, and posed as a champion of the “oppressed” while her family allegedly operated like a self-dealing political machine.
Aaron Ammons, who had multiple drug arrests and was convicted on drug charges. He spent time in prison, and later violated parole. That happened before his convenient pardon (which didn’t include restoration of his firearm rights) so he could run for Champaign County Clerk. He has been accused as Clerk of obstructing Republican election judges and enabling questionable mail-in ballots that tilted local races.
Then there were the persistent rumors of Aaron and Carol’s illicit personal affinity for cocaine as well. Gee, where might that have those “rumors” come from?
Their daughter Titianna, installed on the Champaign County Board with her mother’s help, faces her own federal wire fraud indictment for allegedly collecting pandemic unemployment benefits while drawing pay from multiple sources — including her mother’s political committee.
In 2020, Carol Ammons was investigated for allegedly shoplifting a Coach purse from an Urbana charity thrift shop. No charges followed. Months later she sponsored a bill raising the felony retail theft threshold from $300 to $2000. It would also have removed the felony enhancement for shoplifting with a prior conviction for the same. The pattern of looking out for herself and her circle while harming everyone else is unmistakable.
The feds have now exposed this gun-grabbing, criminal-coddling dynasty for what it is. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch of hypocrites. Illinois gun owners and honest citizens are finally seeing the rot get dragged into the light.
