The Schoenthal v. Raoul “sensitive places” lawsuit challenging Illinois prohibitions on carrying guns on public transportation was distributed for the January 9th conference today.

This is a small step that doesn’t really mean much.  Self-aggrandizing YouTubers (or those who practice click baiting) will pounce on it claiming it’s a BREAKING NEWS or some other hyperbole, but those of us who have followed cases (including some prime cases last year that were never accepted) know to take these announcements with a grain of salt.

At best you can say it’s being seriously considered.

And yes, Guns Save Life is part of an amici brief supporting the appeal.

But keep in mind that SCOTUS rejects 99% of requests to hear appeals of lower court decisions.
