Our old buddy Lil’ Dick Durbin called for a federal ban on America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15 and millions more like it, in the aftermath of a mass murder spree committed with a handgun by a career felon prohibited from legal gun ownership. Once again, gun control like that proposed by Lil’ Dick would only apply to the law-abiding, not to criminals.

Washington, D.C. (WAND) – U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, (D) Illinois, is calling for a federal ban on military style assault weapons in the wake of 3 students being murdered at Michigan State University.
“I believe Congress should also restore the ban on assault weapons including the AR-15 style rifles increasingly the weapon of choice for mass shooters,” Durbin said on the floor of the Senate. “These military style weapons have no place in schools, neighborhoods or college campuses.”
Illinois just recently passed a statewide ban on assault style weapons. The ban is subject to multiple lawsuits in central Illinois.
Sen. Durbin and Sen. Tammy Duckworth, (D) Illinois, are among several lawmakers who earlier this month called for a ban on gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.
Frankly, I think Durbin’s “call” is nothing more than red meat for the radical left in America. Durbin knows the votes aren’t there to pass any gun bans at the federal level AND the Bruen Supreme Court precedent wouldn’t allow them to stand.
Don’t be a Richard. You aren’t banning anything without 60 votes in the Senate, and a majority in the House. Pandering PoS playing to the stupid and uninformed – as usual.
