So, we see on Drudge Report that Adam Kokesh, a supposed “libertarian” activist and radio host, is organizing an long-gun open-carry rally and march into Washington D.C.

(CNS News) – Libertarian activist and radio host, Adam Kokesh plans to lead an armed march on Washington, D.C. this Independence Day.
Launched as a group on Facebook, the “Open Carry March on Washington” hopes to get 1,000 supporters to march into the nation’s capital with loaded rifles.
The group plans to meet at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. From there, they will march across the Memorial Bridge into Washington, D.C. and continue down Independence Avenue.
While Virginia permits open carry, Washington, D.C. does not issue any permit/licenses to carry a firearm.
The Facebook page states:
“This is an act of civil disobedience, not a permitted event. We will march with rifles loaded & slung across our backs to put the government on notice that we will not be intimidated & cower in submission to tyranny.”
The event is said to be non-violent and states that if the group is met with physical resistance, they will turn back.
Hum. Deliberately violating Washington DC firearms laws. Probable felony conviction and resultant loss of the right to have firearms. This guy is pathetic. Who decided to call him a libertarian activist? I’d say he is more like a publicity hound operating on the level of Perez Hiltion.
First, DC’s law is unconstitutional and the city is directly under the Federal Consitution. This is obvious and if you deny it, then you do not support the right to keep and bear arms under the Second Amendment.
Second, Kokesh stated that this will be a nonviolent march. All it will take is one police officer enforcing the unconstitutional law to stop the march.
Finally, most people have no idea how the law works. An unconstitutional law is no law at all. I have nearly the unlimited right to keep and bear arms in Virginia. I do not even need a permit to carry concealed in Wyoming. Due to the Illinois constitution, I have no right to keep and bear arms in that state. DC is not encumbered by a state constitution and the Second Amendment controls it. Unfortunately, people just accept whatever law the government comes out with as if it were constitutional. This is all Kokesh is saying with this march.
Kokesh is working to make gun owners look bad and gain himself some fame and increase his wage as a radio host from $12 an hour to $50 an hour getting himself a better gig.
He’s a scumbag of the highest order, hiding behind his claimed advocacy for 2nd Amendment rights.
I support fully an armed gathering but not in any way associated with this fella. With the right folks I would even participate but not with this fella.
I think this cat is getting play BECAUSE he’s a code pink type occupy Wall Street type.
One cannot be anti war like pinkers are, rabidly, and then do thus. It’s a recipe for disaster which is exactly what this cat seeks.
I opine that governments know this is coming and this cat is being egged on to do it now, in this way, in order to get others to turn away from holding a gathering such as this.
Firearms and firearms rights are not to be toyed with and not to played games with – and that’s EXACTLY what’s going on here in this example.
If Otis called for this, if David called for this or a handful of others I would be there in a second. This cat? Not a chance. This is a set up from start to finish and folks should steal clear of the fiasco in the making. Ill tell ya this. A hundred or two showing up at the Lincoln statue on june 9 or ten -absent the Facebook drama – would send a thousand times the message this debacle could ever hope to achieve.

Adam is not a bad guy folks and for anyone who accuses him as such is talking out their ass. I’ve been watching him for years. Maybe he’s a little mis-directed here but from everything I’ve seen of him he’s not doing it for a publicity stunt. His heart is in the right place because the bottom line is he’s very concerned with America and the tyrannical state it’s landed. I mean c’mon.. can you blame him? Recent news is that EVERY phone conversation EVEY day is recorded and saved by our ‘government’… so much for the 4th amendment. For those of you pointing the finger at Adam and making him the bad guy — why not you STFU and put your energy into saving this country by joining forces to save an amendment — pick one — they’re ALL under siege.

to me this march is absolutely pointless. It defeats itself. they’ll pussy out if they’re met with physical resistance. what a waste of time. its gonna take more than 1000 people to get the left owned media to respond and if they do this’ll only accelerate the gun grabbers agenda making our 2nd amendment appear intimidating and aggressive. god damn what a stupid move on this jackasses part.
