We have lost one of our generation’s great civil right icons.
It is with great sadness that we must report Otis McDonald has passed away.
He died yesterday, succumbing to a battle with cancer. He was 80 years old.
Mr. Otis W. McDonald, born September 17, 1933 died yesterday April 4, 2014. He was 80 years old.
On behalf of the McDonald Family I want to say thanks to all of you for your support and prayers! Funeral arrangements are pending and just as soon as that information is finalized we will update you immediately.

Otis McDonald was the chief plaintiff in McDonald v. Chicago, 561 U.S. 3025 (2010), a landmarkdecision of the Supreme Court of the United States that incorporated the Second Amendment to the individual states.
Otis McDonald is the reason we have right to carry in Illinois today, along with the other momentum we have pushing back unconstitutional restrictions on our 2nd Amendment civil rights.
We lost a great man! He will be missed!!!
He was a great man I met him twice at IGOLD. I was even able to purchase a autographed book of his last year. R.I.P Otis.
