They’re calling them “flash mobs” like it’s some cute TikTok dance party.

It’s not.

What we’re actually seeing is packs of feral thugs — almost always large groups of black youths, politely labeled “teens” by the mainstream media — organizing on social media to swarm stores, streets, and parking lots across Illinois. They show up for “fun,” then proceed to steal everything that isn’t nailed down, smash displays, terrorize bystanders, and occasionally beat innocent people bloody just because they can.

And the corporate media? They’re doing their best to suppress the footage and downplay the chaos. Why? Because acknowledging the demographics doesn’t fit the narrative. Better to pretend it’s just “youths” having a spontaneous good time than admit what’s really happening.

Over Easter weekend alone, reports indicated five of these planned mob events were planned just in Chicago. Police made a handful of arrests — mostly misdemeanors. In Illinois, that means a slap on the wrist, a quick release, and often dropped charges courtesy of soft-on-crime prosecutors. No real consequences. No deterrence. Just more encouragement for the next round.

It’s not just Chicago anymore though.

These cowards have spread their “fun” to the suburbs and downstate. One hit Naperville, where hundreds of “teens and young adults” took over downtown, leading to arrests for battery and other chaos. Another swarm descended on the Walmart on Freedom Drive in Springfield, turning a normal shopping trip into a scene of destruction and menace.

We’ve warned about this proliferating plague before. Now it’s hitting closer to home for more and more law-abiding Illinoisans.

It’s to the point it’s making national news.  From RedState:

Many of our major cities are, in one way or another, out of control. Chicago may be one of the worst; the return of moderate spring weather has already produced an increase in feral teen mobs taking over the city’s streets, looting, stealing, and destroying property. Sometimes there are several of these street takeovers going on at once.

Hundreds of young people filled the streets and sidewalks in Chicago last week in what Mayor Brandon Johnson is calling “teen trends” that he warned can turn deadly.

Video, obtained by Fox News from ChitownCrimeChasers, showed the teens filling streets and sidewalks on March 30, clustering around parked vehicles and moving through intersections.

Other footage from that night captured different individuals dancing and socializing in the city’s streets, while other moments showed people climbing on cars and brief altercations within the crowd.

Mayor Brandon Johnson is superficially correct in noting that these mobs can “turn deadly,” but his feather-headed characterization of these riots as “teen trends” is unforgivable. These are not happy teens out skylarking; these are criminals, trespassing, stealing, and destroying property – not to mention interfering with the regular, law-abiding citizen’s ability to go about their honest business.

One resident of the area suffered serious damage to his car as the mob overtook him:

One resident, Jason Hale, said his car was among roughly 30 affected by crowds in Chicago that night.

“Yeah, it’s bad. The hood is messed up, terrible. A thousand worth of damage, dents everywhere, footprints everywhere,” Hale told FOX 32 Chicago.

Video shows groups of teens standing and moving on top of parked vehicles as crowds formed around them…

Now, ChiTown Crime Chasers is correct to call on parents, but I suspect their call will fall on deaf ears. The parents of these little goblins probably already have a pretty good idea what their little goblins are up to, and if they don’t, they just don’t care. The few who do care probably have little or no influence over their offspring; if your teenager is headed out the door to engage in an evening of stealing and vandalism, it’s a safe bet that telling them “you’re grounded” won’t do much good.

The city’s response in many of these affairs has been nothing short of impotent:

Chicago police confirmed to the local outlet that three curfew violations were issued in connection with the gathering. A 16-year-old girl was also charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and disorderly conduct.

We’re past the point where begging parents to control their kids will do any good. Government exists for one thing: To protect the liberty and property of the citizens. Chicago has abdicated this responsibility. These crowds must be dispersed by force if necessary. The time for superficial measures is past, and if that means sending in the National Guard, then that’s what should happen.

So what are responsible gun owners supposed to do?

First and foremost: Avoid these areas when you can along with mobs of young people milling about without a sense of purpose before these events kick off.  Situational awareness isn’t paranoia — it’s survival.  If social media is buzzing about a “teen takeover” or “flash mob event” near you, steer clear.  Don’t be where the trouble is brewing.

But here’s the hard truth: What if you can’t avoid it?  What if you’re already there with your family when scores of these “teens” suddenly swarm a store or parking lot you’re trying to navigate?

You have a constitutional right to defend yourself and your loved ones.  Illinois law still recognizes self-defense, even if politicians in Springfield keep trying to erode it.

If a mob surrounds your vehicle, starts smashing windows, or physically attacks you or your family, the situation can escalate to deadly force in seconds.  Frankly, if the aforementioned happens, it probably should escalate into deadly force, either with your accelerator or your Glock.  A pack of 20–50 adrenaline-fueled cowards can drag you out of a car and kill or cripple an innocent person in moments. You don’t have to wait until you’re being stomped unconscious to act.

This is exactly why we train. This is why we carry. Not because we’re looking for trouble — but because trouble, in the form of these opportunistic predators, keeps finding decent people who just wanted to shop, eat, or enjoy a weekend.

The real scandal isn’t just the mobs. It’s the spineless leadership that refuses to name the problem, enforce real consequences, or back the police. It’s the revolving-door “justice” system that treats these thugs like misunderstood kids instead of the dangerous predators they are.

Guns Save Life members know the score: The police can’t be everywhere. When seconds count, the police are minutes away. Your safety is ultimately your responsibility.

Stay armed. Stay trained. Stay alert.

And when these packs of cowards show up looking for easy victims, make sure you’re not one of them.

The Second Amendment isn’t just for hunting or range days. Sometimes it’s the only thing standing between your family and a swarm of human locusts who believe rules don’t apply to them.

Train hard. Carry daily. And never apologize for defending what’s yours.
