(GSL) – Ted Dabrowski stormed into the February Guns Save Life meeting in Pontiac and lit up the packed house at the Pontiac Sportsmen’s Club! This wasn’t some dry political speech—Ted delivered fire, heartfelt stories, and a clear plan to rescue Illinois. As Illinois’ top gun rights advocates, GSL members loved hearing from a candidate who truly understands freedom and gun rights, forged in his family’s real fight against tyranny.
Ted’s dad was a Polish WWII hero—a messenger in the Warsaw Uprising, wounded three times battling Nazis. He survived, escaped communist Poland in 1952 by jumping ship in Sweden, and reached America for liberty. Ted’s mom arrived from Ecuador around the same time, chasing the same dream. Growing up on those stories, Ted’s passion is unmistakable: “I value freedom!”
Today, as a conservative policy expert (ex-president of Wirepoints, Illinois Policy Institute leader), Ted’s running for governor because Illinois is in freefall. We should rank in the top 5 states for opportunity and growth—but we’re near the bottom in most categories, thanks to crushing taxes. Highest property taxes? Check. Sky-high gas and cell phone taxes? Check. Residents are fleeing, and Ted’s blunt: We can fix this.
He drew a powerful parallel: If Poland could rebuild after communism into a freer, thriving nation, Illinois can be fixed too—no excuses. Ted’s pushing real solutions: deep tax cuts (income tax relief, a 1% property tax cap like Indiana’s), ending sanctuary state policies, repealing the disastrous Safe-T Act, scrapping DEI mandates, and restoring common-sense laws that protect taxpayers and law-abiding gun owners.

What sets Ted apart? He’s got the full package to win: a compelling message that resonates (especially with freedom-loving crowds like GSL), relentless energy, and serious fundraising muscle to challenge the entrenched machine. He sees himself as the conservative who can unite the party, win over suburbs, and give Illinois a real shot at revival.
The room left buzzing: Ted’s no career politician—he’s an outsider with immigrant roots, a deep aversion to socialism, and genuine drive to make Illinois affordable, safe, and free again. We can’t make endorsements, but Dabrowski made a strong case for his candidacy for the Republican nomination for Governor.
And as a bonus, Jeanne Ives joined us with Ted and talked about some of her investigative research into NGO non-profits in Illinois.
Those NGOs, numbering hundreds, are collecting hundreds of millions in Illinois taxpayer money and spending it with little oversight or transparency to taxpayers.
