GunNews almost vanished into the night

Just weeks ago, the lights were flickering out on GunNews.   Guns Save Life was staring down the barrel of a brutal financial crunch as last month’s issue hit mailboxes.   GunNews, the monthly beacon of truth—the one that arms Illinois gun owners with facts, fights, and firepower—nearly became a ghost.

We hit rock bottom. Condition Red. The kind of red where you wonder if the fight can even continue.

What pushed us there? We didn’t flinch when the tyrants in Springfield unleashed the PICA ban—the most brazen attack on the Second Amendment Illinois has ever seen. Guns Save Life didn’t just complain. We charged in headfirst.

Five-figure checks. Every spare dollar. Redirected funds that should’ve kept our own lights on—straight to the lawyers battling to smash that unconstitutional gun ban monstrosity. We gave until it hurt. Then we kept giving. Blood, sweat, and treasure poured into the legal trenches.

No other Illinois gun-rights group stepped up like GSL. We bled green so law-abiding citizens could keep their rights intact. Meanwhile, at least one of our peers raked in mountains of cash earmarked for “PICA legal expenses”… and delivered nothing but radio silence. Crickets. While we were writing checks that wrecked our own budget, they were… what? Counting the haul?

But here’s the epic comeback story you’re part of right now:

We’re bouncing back harder than ever—thanks to patriots and ruthless austerity moves that cut every ounce of fat.  No drama-queen fundraising letters (have you seen the price of postage now?). No fluff. Just laser focus on what wins: public education that wakes people up, proven results in the courts and the culture, by delivering GunNews straight to your door with the unfiltered truth.

Here’s the online version of the March 2026 edition of GunNews.   You can download and share it with friends, family, coworkers and even peeps you don’t like.

We’re out of Condition Red. We’re in Condition Yellow—alert, lean, and ready to strike. Give us just a couple more months of penny pinching and your rock-solid support, and we’ll be back stronger, sharper, and more unstoppable than before. Maybe even better positioned to finish the job on PICA once and for all.

This isn’t just about saving GunNews. It’s about saving the Second Amendment in Illinois—one issue, one court filing, one educated voter at a time.

If you believe in the mission, donations would be a godsend.  Checks to: Guns Save Life, PO Box 51, Savoy, IL 61874. Or grab extra tickets for the gun drawings—same fight, more fun.

Oh yes, and William Kirk will join us at a very special Guns Save Life Quincy meeting on Thursday, March 12th in Quincy.  There’s a cover charge for this (their idea, not ours) but we think its VERY MUCH worth your time and treasure to attend.
