IT WASN’T JUST SPRINGFIELD & ROCK RIVER: Downstate Democrat Senators sold us out on Dealer Licensing Vote last month

May 14, 2017

Senator Scott Bennett had an NRA A-rating before selling out gun owners in voting for gun rationing, universal background checks, and gun dealer licensing. He probably won't worry about getting any "A" grades from NRA in the future.

So everyone is asking what happened with the Illinois Senate passing the Gun Dealer Licensing bill. In short, we lost two votes that we thought we had locked up.

As you've read, Senator Harmon and friends made deals to lessen the opposition.  His plan worked.

You can also add that since the election, our guys have gotten complacent.  That same election has the other side simply apoplectic.  Hillary's loss has bent lots of leftists out of shape since November.  On top of that, we've got a whole phalanx of Washington DC lobbyists pounding Illinois House and Senate members.

Downstate senate Democrats, worried about their left flank, tossed gun owners under the bus in an effort to prevent primary challenges. They figure they can smooth over hard feelings of gun owners if they get through the primary.  They must think we're stupid in addition to forgetful.

Already some of these Downstate Democrat Senators are trying to talk about voting for other pro-gun measures as a way of making up for the dealer bill. To them the dealer bill doesn't effect gun owners. Its about those bad dealers in Cook County.  They probably believe in unicorns too.

They refuse to believe that rules and regulations can be foisted upon dealers in a way to run them out of business.

In fact, the sponsor of the bill wants a way to give a rectal exam to the gun shops he doesn't like so as to shut them down. Never mind that Chuck's Gun Shop underwent an ATF inspection last November, where 10 ATF agents showed up unannounced and spent 3 weeks going over their books. What did they find?  Nothing.

When was the last time you heard about TEN ATF agents showing up to do an audit of a gun shop?  Yeah, Rahm and friends called in a favor with the Obummer regime.  And they found nothing improper.  Not even an uncrossed "t".

But that isn't good enough for Senator Harmon. The results didn't fit the narrative he wants. So now he wants to now have someone else look at things and find a way to shut down a business he doesn't like.

The difference on this vote was made up by downstate SENATE democrats who showed gun owners that they were more than willing to throw us under the bus. Expect to see them try and make some sort of  overture to make amends.

The question for gun owners is can downstate Democrat Senators be trusted to defend our rights?

Well, obviously, downstate senators can NOT be trusted to defend our rights!

I sent a message to senator Bennett on May 5th about his yes vote on this bill.  I asked him to explain how this bill will in any way help reduce violence in this state.  Also mentioned was his lack of communication other than the automatic response and that I will share his response or lack of response with my friends.  I am still waiting for his response.   Jim.

The $1.98 question is will downstate Democrat REPS sell us out as well?

Go after them hammer and tongs in BOTH the Primaries as well as the general election. The second amendment is NOT known as being the third rail of politics for nothing, you know. And the senator’s namby pamby “NOT VOTES” just ain’t gonna cut it. We Dump enough Democrats and Madigan / Cullerton will be the MINORITY leader again, IF he retains office.

One of the MAJOR reasons that Illinois doesn’t have a New York style MAY ISSUE (and fuhgetaboutit) carry permit system is because back then you beautiful downstate voting gunowners presented a very VERY credible threat to his speakership at the next election. TOO many seats were in jepoardy for him to not take notice, and toss some red meat downstate, thus his “people in Illinois have changed” speech…

Fellow gunowners, the most accurate way to describe this bill, is that it is a blank check given to the gun-grabbers. A “dealer system” where the constraints will be determined by an appointed board, WITHOUT the citizens having a vote.

In general, the Democrat Party is not moving towards the party of John Kennedy.

Let's face it, today's Democrats have lurched so far left.  They primary pro-gun members of their party.

No, they can't be trusted.  Once you betray me, I can never really trust you again. If you did it once, you'll do it again.

I have to think there's a huge pot of money floating around in the back rooms and dark alleys of Illinois politics.   These "local" politicians are aware of it and just trying to get their share and cover their retirement.  When they see the stick and carrots the big boys are throwing around, they get hungry for the carrot and afraid of the stick.  Wonder what we'll see with an examination of election financial records?  Looks like it's time to start looking.

For all those local politicians that haven't gone over to the dark side, remember that Illinois is full of 2nd Amendment supporters;  We vote and support those who support us.  Unlike those shills stopping by our state for a single vote, we don't go away as soon as you do our bidding… we live here and vote, time and time again.

Not suprised about Democrat Communist, but Rock River and Springfield WOW!

    Thanks, Scott.

In my earlier post I said I was waiting to hear from Bennett, in all fairness he did call me this morning.  He spent most of a half hour explaining how "we have to do something," the bill should not have had the "big box store carve out."  "Convictions are hard to get" and this is not going to shut down gun dealers.  All this tied together means it will reduce violence in Illinois.  That is what he said and I am not buying any of this crap.   Jim.

    STOP electing Democrats!

The solution is the hangman's noose and the Tree of Liberty.  Seriously.

Voting is a damn joke.  Dems or Repubs….left wing, right wing, same bird.

Who in their right mind thought Scott Bennett could be trusted, particularly on matters regarding gun legislation?  LOL

  14. truthaboutLife on May 21, 2017 at 10:06 am

The real story isn’t the vote Bennett cast but the fact of the matter is he traded votes with Boch and NRA’s Lobbyist for suppressors. That’s the story not manufacturers or big boxes. The question really should be how many other votes got traded??

    • Parabellum on May 22, 2017 at 4:18 pm

Where in the hell did you hear that?  Did the Springfield Armory rep tell you that?  LOL.

    • David Deplorable on May 22, 2017 at 4:20 pm

      That's pretty funny.

    • jboch on May 22, 2017 at 10:19 pm

Show us some proof, Mr. TruthAboutLife.

      Put up or shut up.

      • David Deplorable on May 24, 2017 at 10:02 am

He's got no proof.  He's just trying to throw the hound dogs off Springfield's trail of treachery.
