On a school day, at 8:20a.m., no less.  Shot four times in the chest.  Just going to go out on a limb and say it wasn’t a random bullet that caught him.

Perhaps Mr. Mattix should have been at work instead of prowling the streets.

Chicago (Tribune) – A man was killed on a Safe Passage route on the first day back to classes for Chicago Public Schools students, one of six people shot across the city on Monday.

The 21-year-old man was shot four times in the chest about 8:20 a.m. near Lake Street and Central Avenue in the Austin neighborhood, according to authorities.

The man, identified as Jeffrey A. Mattix, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said witnesses saw a sedan car fleeing the scene. Mattix died of multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office

  1. Four shots to the chest?

    They either
    (1) shot 245 rounds at this guy and he got really, really unlucky, or
    (2) someone who knew how to handle a GAT really, really didn’t like this mope.

Either way, I think we can rest assured the race to the cure for cancer hasn’t been slowed one moment with the loss of Mr. Dead Dude.

    1. Sam,

      Feeling a little cynnical?

He might have been a good boy on his way to school.

Oh wait, he was 21. Nevermind.

    2. Sam, SHAME ON YOU.

This is a human being, who by all accounts was just minding his own business and who was murdered by a lawless animal.

YOU know NOTHING about him other than this.

And yet you celebrate his murder?

You’re as despicable now as you were when you were constantly talking about mens’ balls.

      Just shut up.

    3. Okay, Ken. Maybe you’re right.

Maybe I’ll think about this dead dude while scratching my balls after I wake up in the morning, before I take my dump.

Why don’t you go buy his family some flowers or something if you’re so sure he’s a saint?

      Sam

    4. Ken, what you wrote about Sam sounds like what someone could write about you regarding all the crap you write about cops.

    5. I stand by my condemnation of you, sam. You’re despicable. You know NOTHING about this VICTIM except that he is a victim, and yet you glory in his murder. SHAME, SHAME on you, special snowflake indeed.

You guys have me troubled, significantly.

If “WE’RE” the good guys with the guns, then we’re no better than the animals out there.

Do any of you have a conscience? or are you just eagerly anticipating the day you get to kill some black guy who looks at you cross-ways at an intersection?

You’re sociopaths. I am qualified to make this diagnosis.

Oh, and the murderous cop in Texas has now been indicted for perjury viz. Sandra Bland. Justice is slowly being meted out.

But you guys – if you’re supposed to be the rational ones in support of our Second Amendment causes – then you’re the wrong guns to be in the fight.

And J.B. If you wanna debate me, debate me, but calling me a “special snowflake” is just demeaning, and quite frankly, stupid.

If you wanna refute this special snowflake, then DEFEND sam’s statements in celebration of an innocent man’s MURDER in chitcago. Do it.

      You can’t. They’re indefensible.

The emperor has no clothes. Shame on all of you.

    6. Gosh, Ken:

I lost a lot of sleep last night thinking about this turd.

Mrs. W. lost a little sleep as well about it.

      What happened, you ask?

I cleaned my carry pistol. Cleaned it up real nice, and kilt a bunch of dust bunnies deader than the turd in this story.

Mrs. W smelled the gun cleaner (she’s no fan of Hoppes) and told me to go to bed.

So I did after putting things away.

      Slept like a baby too.

      Sam

    7. Ken, I never called you a snowflake. Special or otherwise.

I was referring to the illiterate compatriots of the deceased.

No need to feel defensive, sir.

      John

    8. I thought Sam talked about takin’ his morning craps, not balls.

I guess I’m goin’ to hell too, because I am fresh out of give-a-shits that this dirt bag is taking a dirt nap.

      Yep, shame on me.

  2. “…and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office”

    Ya think?

  3. More signs and harsher threats of what will happen will prevent more violence on “Safe Passage” routes.

After all, can’t everyone read the sign?!
