More and more today, bad guys are opting for home invasions instead of, or in addition to home burglaries to get their loot. Why is that? Well, if bad guys come in when people are home, they don’t have to wrestle with safes or find hidden valuables. The homeowners will open safes and give up the goodies once you demonstrate a willingness to do unpleasant things to their loved ones.
A modern-day Bonnie and Clyde were plying this latest money-making endeavor in Las Vegas this morning around 9am when they made a sudden and profound error in the victim selection process.
Fox5 had the story where they picked a house where there was an armed American who was aware of his surroundings and calm under stress.
The “Bonnie” half of the criminal predators was the first to encounter the armed homeowner. They exchanged shots and she developed a leak or three. Clyde joined in the excitement and found himself leaking from fresh perforations as well.
They drove themselves to different hospitals. Clyde was a few pints low when he arrived at hospital #1. Bonnie is in critical condition at hospital #2.
The five residents in the home – including two youngsters? They were all unhurt.
Neighbors are saying what they always say after something like this happens – “nothing like that ever happens here.”
Be prudent and situationally aware, even at home.
