A clerk on his third day at work at a liquor store in Indianapolis early Sunday morning shot and killed an armed robber waving around a gun.

“He took his eyes off me and that was a bad decision for him,” the former Iraq vet Zachary Rogers told a local TV station.

Kudos to Rogers for applying for decisively to protect innocent life from a man threatening to kill in order to take something that’s not his.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office is reviewing the case of a would-be robber who was shot and killed by a liquor store clerk over the weekend.

Officers were called to the 21st Amendment Liquor Store at 3939 S. Keystone Ave. just before 1 a.m. Sunday on a report of an attempted robbery.

Employees told police that a man came into the store with a gun and demanded money.

That’s when employee Zachary Rogers, who was armed with a handgun, shot and killed the suspected robber, police said.

Police later identified the man as Donald Crenshaw, 47.

…Rogers, who has worked at the liquor store for three days, said it was first job he was able to land since coming home from serving in Iraq.
