Chicago’s short, short Mayor, Rahm Emanuel is like a one trick pony when it comes to violent crime.  His answer every time:  “more gun control!”  Almost like a trained parrot.  Or a tiny ballerina.

Nevermind that it’s his inner-city Obama voters that are committing the murders, and by and large bearing the brunt of those homicides.

By the way:  How violent is it in Chicago?  Let’s put it this way, America had less fatalities among its combat troops in Afghanistan than Chicago had homicides in 2012.

Really.

More Murders in Chicago in 2012 Than Allied Losses in Afghanistan

Allied losses in Afghanistan last year were 405.  Meanwhile, Chicago had 532 homicides last year.

So, what’s Rahm’s answer?

Emanuel, Preckwinkle team up on tougher gun rules, sentences

(Sun-Times) – Mayor Rahm Emanuel wants to broaden the requirement for reporting the loss, theft, sale or transfer of firearms to all gun owners in all of Cook County and double the jail time for an array of gun violations to stop the bloodbath on Chicago streets.

The latest in a string of Chicago-only gun control ordinances — and companion legislation that would impose a first-ever reporting requirement in Cook County — was hastily drawn after an assault weapons ban stalled during the lame-duck session of the Illinois General Assembly.

Remember, Chicago loves their gun control laws.  All those restrictive laws keep them really safe and all that.  After all, they had 532 homicides in 2012.

Contrast that with Illinois’ second largest city, Aurora, just 20 miles west of Chicago.  Aurora has none of Chicago’s onerous gun rules and regulations.

Wanna guess how many homicides they had in 2012?

Zero.

No, really.

Zero.  Check out their website!

Aurora’s Crime Fighting Results In 0 Murders In 2012

For the first time in six decades, Aurora did not record a single murder during the 2012 calendar year, marking another major milestone in the city’s efforts to reduce crime.

“This accomplishment demonstrates again that Aurora is among the safest large and diverse communities across the nation,” Mayor Tom Weisner said.  “The combination of a world-class police force working with community groups, city leaders, and law enforcement agencies has resulted in reducing crime to record-lows.”

This isn’t rocket science folks.

Yet Rahm, the “Godfather”, and Toni Preckwinkle, the Cook County Board Chairman,  and their merry band of leftist Chicago Democrats can’t figure it out.

Here are a few of them, posing together.

Meanwhile, Chicago’s off to a remarkable start for 2013.

22 homicides in the first two weeks.  And the weather hasn’t exactly been hot and humid, either.

  1. It’s not a gun problem, but a black gang problem. Most shooters and victims are black male gang members. But you can’t say that.

  2. As someone wise told me a long time ago: “You can’t solve a problem unless you first identify a problem, and you can’t identify a problem if you’re prevented from doing so by the dictates of political correctness.”

  3. I read this some where, I hope the writer is not mad at me for the repeat.
Rahm Emamuel wants pension funds to divest from any gun related holding.
So following that line, as most or all of the latest shooting and murders in Chicago, are done by Blacks and Hispanics.
All city contracts and give aways to the Black and Hispanic communities should end until the revs and other pretend church decons
(Jessie Jackson)Go on the TV,and all other media and place the blame where it belongs. Thats their own people.
The news media keeps trying to look over the pile of dead bodies to see who is responsible, and can not or will not see that it’s blacks and Hispanics standing behind the pile.
They say it’s the second ammendment that some how is causing the body pile.

  4. With 300 million firearms in private hands (one-third of them pistols), the overwhelming majority of gun owners ARE responsible, law-abiding citizens, which is why horrific massacres are not commonplace, but rather terrible outliers that can never be legislated away (e.g. DC, Chicago, and “Gun Free Zones”).

For several examples for the recent use of firearms for defensive purposes not typically reported by the national media please visit: http://www.equalforce.net and forward this site to others to whom this information may be useful. @EqLF1
