Recently, Santa Rosa County Florida Sheriff Bob Johnson’s deputies captured a hardcore career felon.
Brandon Harris, a 32-year-old white male, was wanted on two felony warrants when he went on a rampage through four homes trying to escape, with one unidentified homeowner firing shots at him.
Harris was eventually cornered and jumped through a window into the tender-loving arms of Johnson’s deputies.
With a record of 17 arrests and a six-and-a-half-year prison sentence for home invasion before this episode, Harris was determined to avoid recapture. Knowing how dangerous Harris is, Johnson reminded people: ”If someone is breaking into your house, you’re more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County. We prefer that you do, actually.”
Well, the mere mention of shooting home invaders was enough to send the bedwetters at NPR and other legacy media outlets scurrying to their safe spaces. The fake new media believes those evil conservative, white supremacist homeowners won’t stop to check their implicit bias before shooting oppressed, career criminals breaking into their homes, thus creating “unfounded racial animosity,” which by the way, is precisely what NPR, CNN, MSNBC and the rest of the fake news media has been doing since they quit doing the news.
Florida residents charged with shooting home invaders aren’t required to argue “self-defense” at trial. Instead, Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law allows for immunity from criminal prosecution and civil action to be asserted at a pre-trial hearing, and for a motion to dismiss. Law-abiding citizens deserve legal protection not only from criminals at-large but also from ideologically-motivated and politically-driven partisan prosecutors.
