Reese

Springfield Armory has a new, professionally done video out.  In short, Dennis Reese claims he knew nothing about what his lobbyist was doing in Springfield.  Take four minutes and watch it.  I'll wait…

Then The Truth About Guns wrote tonight:

Reached for comment (by an anonymous source), lobbyist Keller said “I did what they paid me to do.” Our source also tells us that Springfield Armory is considering suing Mr. Keller and TTAG.

Make of that what you will.

Make of that what you will indeed.

  1. Wow!  He even jerked a tear.

What else is he jerking?  Us?

There's a CONCEPT in the law called AGENCY.  He hired, paid and promoted a lobbying firm that betrayed us.  Where's the MEA CULPA for that?  Not the tear-jerking horsecrap they filmed and published, but the "hey, this guy screwed the pooch royally, we shit-canned him and it will NEVER,  I mean NEVER, ever happen again!"?

I will put off buying any Springfield and RRA products until I know the truth.  If I don't ever come to learn the truth, then that's THEIR LOSS.

  2. Ol' Yeller soundtrack for Ol' Shifty-eyes.

"I was just doing what they paid me to do."  That, ladies and gents, is the most plausable statement I have read so far about this whole rotten deal.

  3. After watching this I'm absolutely convinced he knew exactly what was going on in IFMA. I'll never spend another cent with them or RRA.

  4. "I did what they paid me to do."  Sounds an awful lot like, "… just following orders."  That's no defense for immoral actions.

Save your tears, and sell the company.  You're millionaires living in a small town farming community … you're not going to go hungry or be out on the streets.

Sell the damn company, remove yourself and your family from all management positions.  THAT's how you can start to rebuild "trust", protect jobs, and continue the mission of protecting the 2nd amendment.  That's how you can do right by your employees and your community.  That's how the company (not YOU) can START to earn back that trust …

  5. What grounds does SA think they have to sue? Telling the truth and holding their feet to the fire? Isn't that the point of the press? None of the information in those articles was fabricated, it was all facts and all of it was publically available. If SA actually does file a lawsuit it should be taken as proof positive that they are sellouts. Heck, merely considered suing the blog should be an eternal shame on the company. If you can get additional corroboration that the company entertained the notion of a lawsuit please let us know. We should not be supporting a company who would try to silence the truth about their anti-2nd Amendment actions.

  6. So he bought his "golden jacket", huh.  Big deal.  I would guess most NRA awards are purchased.

With those donations, the NRA avoids the topic.  They are toast.

    How to fix this?

    1.  Step down Dennis.  Take anyone related with you.

    2.  Dedicate yourselves to an active role in Springfield.  Hire a real lobbyist.  Steal Ed Sullivan from ISRA.  Or Todd from NRA-ILA.

    3.  Take full responsibility.  "Yeah, we knew.  Yeah, we lied.  We won't do it again.  And we know everyone will be watching."

    4.  Donate money and product to everypro-gun group in Illinois to help them fund their work.  Yes, even GSL.

    5.  Create a nice, slick video a year later outlining the steps taken and show meaningful results from those efforts.

Or, go down to Big R and buy some more shovels and some headlamps.  You guys are deep enough that gou will need lights soon.

  7. This looks like one of those "Caught with your pants done around your ankle moments"

If they help stop the legislation in the House then that will be a good thing and maybe they will learn a lesson. The problem is this bill will keep coming back time after time after time.

This is not a Dealer licensing bill this is a Gun Ban Bill

    1. Bill1 – I aggree with you 100%.  Once gun-grab bills are released from committee by the Dems (its always Dems), Senate or House doesn't matter, they have nine lives.

  8. I called my state rep on this bill again this morning and had a nice talk. The man that answered  the phone knew just how bad this bill is and its impact.

Please what ever you do keep calling. the Illinois House needs to hear you opposition to the bill. Please share this information with others and have them make calls

  9. First rule of filling in holes.   STOP DIGGING!

This guy can't seem to put the shovel down, and it doesn't smell like dirt that he's shoveling.

For these two companies to survive, they need some professional help.  There are many crisis managers and business consultants out there.    Do all they can to stop this bill then hire one of them.  Perhaps, the companies will survive after that, otherwise, they better hope they can make a living on government sales.

  10. This whole thing kills me, I have 3 Springfields, bought myself a Saint for Christmas ,carried my XD and XDS , talked a friend of mine into an XDS for summer carry. I watched the video and want to forgive them because conservatives are forgiving people unlike our progressive counterparts but I can't at this time, so the SA guns I have will be put out of action and I will carry my G19 and use another for summer carry. I will wait and see and if does not work out I will dump my SA guns and never return.

  11. Thinking about suing TTAG over this?  These guys are as tone deaf and stupid as Hillary.

  12. "I was just doing what they paid me to do."

Does that mean "I did what I thought was best" or "I did what they told me to do." ?

Thats the answer I want! Is that the only comment he made, or the only one that fits the narretive of the story? I have a problem with anonamous sources.

    Inquiring minds want to know.
