The Truth About Guns reported a bombshell late last night.  The Mandalay Bay property's active shooter policy kept their armed security from engaging the killer.  Their policy was (remains?) to "wait for the police".  Nice, huh?

I predict that if indeed the Mandalay Bay had armed security who hung back "waiting for police" while the killer hosed down hundreds of people below, then the parent company MGM will face plenty of lawsuits, potentially bankrupting the company.

Here's the Exclusive from TTAG:

“Jesus Campos, a security guard at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino (above), was shot by Paddock six minutes before he began shooting into a crowd of 22,000 people enjoying the country music festival down below, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joe Lombardo said in a news conference Monday evening.” The foxnews.com report radically changes the timeline for the Las Vegas spree killing . . .

Mandalay Bay Hotel security knew about the shooter for six minutes before he started shooting. We know Stephen Paddock fired on the crowd for ten minutes. What was the Mandalay Bay hotel’s armed security doing during those 16 minutes?

Nothing. TTAG has learned that the Mandalay Bay hotel — and other large Las Vegas hotels — have a standard policy for responding to shots fired — wait for the police.

So there were good guys with guns within potential striking distance of the killer who did not strike.

In fact, at least 21 minutes expired from the moment Stephen Paddock opened fire on the Mandalay Bay unarmed security guard until the Las Vegas SWAT team’s arrival. And then another hour before the team made entry.

  1. Hey, KK[K]?  What were you saying the other day about cops being the "good guys?"

TWENTY ONE MINUTES of untrammeled shooting.

In rodeo parlance, dats called a "shooting gallery."

Definitely heads are gonna roll over this policy!

    1. mental midget kenny-boy,

apparently you have not been doing much research, the murderer was shooting a little over 10 minutes, probably due to the fact the barrels overheated from all the ammo being fired or the firearms jamming. Liberalism is a mental disease and this murderer was well infected, just as you seem to be. Suppose he was one of the "gun control" crowd, what better way to get the fascists to begin confiscating firearms from law-abiding citizens than to mass-murder peaceful concert-goers with the very firearms gun-grabbers want eliminated?

  2. Let's not lose sight that this was a jihadist terrorist attack. The shooter had a shaved head in preparation of martyrdom, ISIS claimed him, the Saudis own the resort connected to the same building, and no security footage has been released. This entire thing smacks of cover up with the NRA already folding like a cheap card table because even the RINO insiders there know this is far bigger than they can handle.
