Junk Science and Junk Media: Americans have had enough

By now our readers have read about the utter fraud perpetrated by scientists promoting the so-called “global warming” agenda.  Few will disagree that it’s nice to see demagogues and scoundrels squirm in the national spotlight.

Fewer heard the testimony of the U.S. Secret Service Director to Congress in the aftermath of the Dinner Crashers scandal at the White House.

The Politico revealed that the U.S. Secret Service Director John Sullivan, in a heated exchange with DC Delegate Eleanor Norton, explained that threats, “are the same level as it has been [against] the last two presidents.”

How interesting.  Back in late October, this story made the rounds of the major media:

An internal congressional report questioning the ability of the Secret Service to continue fulfilling its duties was leaked to the Boston Globe. The report says the Secret Service is strained by a drastic increase in threats to President Obama, coupled with deep budget cuts. …

The report, issued in August by the Congressional Research Service…
Talking Points Memo noted that Ronald Kessler, the author of a recently released book on the Secret Service’s protection of U.S. presidents, recently said that threats against President Obama are up 400 percent from the number of threats levied against former President George W. Bush, while the size of the agency’s staff has only increased by 5.3 percent.

The Southern Poverty Law Center says that the U.S. has seen a 35 percent rise in hate groups in recent years, and few doubt that the discontent stirred up over the election of an African-American president is fueling the rise in threats.

So, the question is who leaked the disinformation to the Boston Globe?  And why did the Globe, in classic mainstream media fashion, go forward and print allegations even though the Secret Service at that time told them the report was “not accurate and lacks a good deal of information”?

And the mainstream media wonders why their readership, subscribership and viewership numbers are all down sharply the last few years.

Mr. Kessler, the author of the book quoting all sorts of “inside information” has been thoroughly discredited as either a fabricating liar or a lying opportunist.

Of course, scoundrels at the Southern Poverty Law Center didn’t miss an opportunity to lay the blame for this mythical 400% increase in threats to supposed right-wing hate groups like gun owners, friends of the Constitution and retired military servicemen.

There is light at the end of the tunnel.  There will continue to be major changes in the mainstream media and many of these sycophants will be heading the way of the buggy whip makers soon.  Newsweek, for instance, is already on the slippery slope to oblivion.  Many others aren’t far behind.

Americans are reaching their fill of demagoguery and mockery of the values our nation was founded upon.

One sign at a recent Tea Party rally summed up the feelings of millions quite nicely.  “Jam it down our throats in 2009 and we’ll stick it up your ass in 2010.”

Well said.  We look forward to 2010.
