Typical liberal elites. At Sunday evening’s Oscars, a number of mostly B-list (or BS-list?) celebs shilled for gun control for the mostly irrelevant Brady Campaign.
These celebs know that the only thing that stops evil people are good guys with guns. That’s why they were happy to submit to all sorts of security presence at their bordering on narcissistic awards show.
Meanwhile, some of the far-left narcissist B- and C-listers, in a feeble and feckless effort to generate some relevance for themselves, are allowing themselves to be prostituted by the Brady Campaign to pimp gun control to low-information types.

Hollywood A-listers will be supporting more than their favorite films on Sunday at the Academy Awards.
Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and others will add a specific piece of jewelry to their wardrobes for the night, as they promote a campaign against gun violence in the United States.
“A-listers”? Compared to whom? Put a photo lineup in front of a dozen people and ask them to pick out Patricia Arquette, Steve Carell and Bryan Cranston and see how many pick out the correct face. Donald Trump would be an A-lister. Bryan Cranberry? Hardly.
“This awards season, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence is teaming up with Hollywood to lift up the stories of the 90 Americans killed every day by gun violence,” a press release from the campaign states. “On the red carpet, high-profile celebrities … will join the effort to shed light on the human cost of gun violence by wearing unique, hand-crafted bracelets that commemorate Americans killed or injured by gun violence.”
Oh, that’s such a flowery press release, Brady. If one substituted “criminal” for “gun”, it would be something all Americans could support.

But does the Brady Campaign spend its time and money advocating the prevention of “criminal violence”?
No.
The Brady Campaign advocates making the exercise of your Second Amendment rights more difficult to impossible.
It shouldn’t be surprising as they were formerly known as Handgun Control, Inc. and before that, The Coalition to Ban Handguns.
Since Bloomberg showed up with his $50 million a year gun control dog and pony show though, the Brady Campaign has had to be content to residing on the B-list of gun control groups, struggling to keep its head above water to get the oxygen of publicity and relevancy in an ever changing world where more and more Americans recognize and appreciate the life-saving benefits of firearm ownership to their families in their homes.
Meanwhile, how blatant is the hypocrisy?
EXCLUSIVE: This year’s Oscar show will be the first since the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino and Paris which, all told, took the lives of 144 people and injured 390. Law enforcement says there is “no specific information relative to threats” to this year’s Academy Awards, which is good news. Still, Sunday’s Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood not only will be swarming with hundreds of law enforcement officers, but there also will be SWAT team members with bulletproof vests and tactical gear, bomb-sniffing dogs and sophisticated surveillance equipment (both overt and covert). There will be metal detectors, and every car entering into the Hollywood & Highland parking facility will be swept.
Sunday’s Academy Awards will be be protected by a massive security presence — with federal, state and local law enforcement anchored by a 500-officer contingent from the Los Angeles Police Department.
The deployment is on a par, or slightly larger, than in years past, with visitors required to pass through three security perimeters before they can reach the red carpet outside the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
Security preparations for the 88th annual awards fete are a massive undertaking, with planning beginning virtually after the end of last year’s show and the first street closures beginning three weeks prior to the big event. Formal red carpet arrivals begin at 4 pm, local time, with host Chris Rock kicking off the awards at 5:30 pm., broadcast on ABC.
“It’s a very robust footprint,” said Deputy Chief Beatrice Girmala, the LAPD official overseeing security. “We want to make sure that we protect what we consider a very valuable asset, the film industry…”
Frankly, my most valuable asset is my life that those of my family members. Who protects them?
I suppose they have anti-aircraft batteries set up to protect against an air strike from drones carrying bunker buster bombs…..Obama has used them effectively to take out targets of opportunity and terrorists have access to the same technology especially with stealth technology those drones will have a radar signature of that of a small bird….so therefore your 500 law enforcement and swat contingents on the ground will be of no use in the event of an airstrike.
Have to wonder if any of them talked about the hundreds of deaths by gun portrayed in their garbage films. Not!
Quentin Tarantino is at the top of the list of Hollywood Hypocrites. Anything he makes it pure junk. His films have only one topic, death.
Yep. They make their money promoting drugs, violence, crime, and about every other unethical, immoral or dishonest thing and then the promote gun control.
Here’s my idea of gun control for them: Ban guns in movies and television.
