NBC2 has the video from bystanders of a good Samaritan shooting a violent attacker mounted on a Sheriff's Deputy beating him to death.

The good guy's rounds took care of the problem when the bad boy didn't heed warnings to cease his unlawful attack.  NBC2's accompanying story:

NBC2 obtained the witness videos from the good Samaritan fatal shooting of Edward Strother, the man who attacked a Lee County deputy near Corkscrew Road.

A single photo of the incident shed light on just how serious it was. Deputy Dean Bardes believed Strother was armed but was pinned to the ground.

The newly released cell phone videos show exactly what witnesses saw that November morning.

The terror can be heard in the voice of those recording while they watched Strother on top of Deputy Bardes. Strother pinned Bardes to the ground after the deputy chased the suspect several miles on I-75. Strother reportedly beat the deputy in the middle of the exit ramp on I-75.

Drivers pulled over to see it unfold, but the man in the blue shirt walked into the scene to stop the attack.

Strother was shot and killed by a civilian, Ashad Russell, a witness to the whole incident with a concealed weapons permit and gun. All three shots hit Strother. Within moments, Russell dropped his weapon and slowly walked away to wait for deputies.

  1. It is unfortunate that a man's life had to be forfeit.

That said, of course it was legit.

That said, it is a damned shame that the young men of today are such twinkie bastards that they all started recording instead of a waist high tackle at about 25 mph.

THere are a few times outside of football where a man is permitted to hit someone as hard as he damn can; this is one of those instances.

If there were a MAN there (in addition to the blue shirt GODSEND), the guy needn't have been killed.

I'm a firefighter, and I can tell you, EVERY SINGLE scene we're on, someone's recording instead of helping.

And, of course, womyn are screaming, as womyn do!

Men, man up. Teach your sons to be MEN.

  2. What scares me is that all these young "men" taped the incident and then gave a play by play as to what they saw.  But none of these young men, the future of the country, did a single thing to help the officer.  I cringe for the future of this country.  God bless the men and women serving in our military and police.

  3. Yea. Everyone watching. Could have done something.   Every car has a jack handle or a lug wrench.  These  could be good weapons  to knock the attacker  in the head  even a good kick would change  things. So the officer could get control  of the  situation

  4. There is assuredly a new crop of young men, cops in particular, who kill simply because THEY CAN.  Most of the cop shootings nowadays would have been resolved, post-war, by a rugged young veteran simply knocking the snot out of the bad guy. Now these fat donut-eaters just "choot 'em" whenever they can. There are no negative consequences.
