Americans' emotions continue to run high following the mass murder attack at the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas.  These left's anger came full bore to Guns Save Life today.  A former Democrat Holly Township Michigan trustee, Mark Cornwell, sent GSL's Executive Director a series of profanity-laced texts starting at 12:11pm Tuesday, October 3rd.  Included in the series of texts were a threat that Mr. Cornwell will bring war.

Pro tip for the day:  The free Mr. Number app provides both name and location for most all cell phone users.  So when you send a "F-you.  You are full of sh*t" text to someone unsolicited, they might just know who you are and where you're from.

Here's the series of texts…

So who is Mark Cornwell?

While Mark's from Springfield, IL, he now lives and works in Michigan.  He's run for Holly Township trustee as a Democrat a number of times and voters eventually elected him.  He lost his run for re-election in 2016 to a pair of Republicans.  Those evil Republicans.

He's a principle with Sustainable Salting Solutions LLC (or so he claims in a post at Knowledge Base), but the Sustainable Salt Solutions website has been suspended (probably for non-payment).

With winter coming, it would seem Mark should have better things to do than send profane emails to good people he doesn't even know.  In fact, it would be far more responsible and mature of him not to send profane, harassing emails to anyone.

But then again, the Left hates gun owners.  And the "by any means necessary" mindset certainly appears to be spreading far and wide.

  1. What a jackass.  Probably thought he could harass you and maybe even threaten you with impunity.  Boy, that worked out well for him, didn't it.  Watch yourself though.  He might be the next Leftist old white guy James Hodgkinson who tried to assassinate a bunch of Republicanson a baseball diamond.  And, as you say, Cornwall is from Illinois, too.  Just like Hodgkinson.

  2. Hang in there. Idiots like this are to be expected. Thank God hillary is not in the White House!

  3. Bully is gonna bully.  Do you think he woke up this morning and thought, "I'm going to make a life changing decision today"?

  4. Well, you guys will have to go save at least 59 extra lives again now to make your claim true.

    1. "We" don't have to save 59 more lives, the lives saved with the use of firearms from thugs and evil people by the intanded victims prove it on a daily basis, Laurent.

    2. Not me dyslectic….HOWEVER, I am guessing more people like me are going to come out of the woodwork and stand up against what I believe is a minority (loud mouthed however).  I believe the majority of my fellow Americans are grwoing woefully tired of those who propagate and profit from fear.

    3. …ya know, I was at SHOT show the day of the innaguration. There were TV's and computer screens and phones everywhere with Trump taking the oath…you could hear a pin drop.

The entire industry waiting with baited breath for "so help me God."

…an industry that would have set record profits had Hillary been elected. But, instead, put their nation and patriotism first.

The second the oath was completed, the ground shook from the appause and cheers.

      Fuck you, Mark.

  5. Congratulations on the use of old playbook Repo extremists to try to smear those who disagree with their point of view.

First and most importantly, I had unfortunately put my name on the ballot in 2016 early on but as disagreements with my fellow board members continued to escalate, I decided not to run for re-election.  Sadly, there are deadlines for having your name removed from a ballot.  I may have been the only candidate in history asking people NOT to vote for me because I had dropped out.  Proof?  League of Women Voters, Tri-County Times and other social media explaining my rationale.  Oddly, even after all of that I still received a large number of votes in a strongly Republican area.  Guess that was due to voting for my constituents instead of the prevailing mindset and self interests of the Republican dominated board.

Second, I am an avid hunter and own multiple guns.  That said I now use a muzzle loader (like that during the times when the Constitution was drafted) because I only need one shot.  My wonderful DNR would arrest me, fine me, put me in jail, and revoke my hunting privileges if I had more than three slugs in a shotgun during deer season.

Yeap…I am strongly opposed to the ease of availibility of assualt like weapons and high capacity clips and magazines capable of spitting out bullets with impunity.  Grow up folks, these weapons are NOT toys.  It's time to ban the sale of these weapons whose only purpose is killing people or shooting shit up.  Can't stop those already on the street but can eliminate putting hundreds of thousand more out there.

    1. Mark, I'm certain that the energy I am about to waste in typing this directly to you will go in vene, as I'm certain you are the type of individual who has already locked his mind around his idiology. However, here it goes….

I see in your statement several things that you did. For instance, claiming that you are an "avid hunter" and now only use a muzzle loaded rifle to hunt with. I recognize that for the statement it is, considering most anti-gun individuals, to include anti-2nd Amendment individuals, feel that citizens should only use these types of weapons today, since that was the primary rifle back when the constitution was created. I call bs on that and would like to see a YouTube video of you actually firing this weapon. Additionally, you claim you only need "one shot" to effectively neutralize any target. Again, I call bs on this too. First off, a muzzle loaded rifle is not as accurate as a modern day rifle, so the "one shot, one kill" motto would be highly inappropriate to say, when sporting a muzzle loaded weapon as a primary choice for defense, or hunting for that matter. Also, which branch of service were you in, primarily, which Marine Corps Division were you attached to. Since the "one shot, one kill" is something that was instilled in me during Marine Boot Camp, I can only guess you have Marine Corps training behind your claim. Oh wait, yeah, I'm gonna call bs on that too. You see, the language you use to identify specific components of a rifle are a little off, and don't match the skill set of an individual with actual weapons training. As a matter of fact, outside of maybe a water pistol or maybe even a B.B. Gun (don't shoot your eye out), I doubt you have shot or posses anything sort of firearm. You see, people who are actually educated in the art of a firearm or rifle, don't mistake the components of said weapons. They also don't seem to have the need to justify their statements by stating that they own weapons and hunt. Again, a YouTube video of your expertise and skills with these weapons would clear any doubt up.

In regards to your election, or lack thereof. Frankly, I'm thinking that since you seem to admit that you are in a predominantly Republican location, you realized the waste of time it was for you to run. Then again, I call bs on that too. You ran, you just came up with this little story so you can justify in your mind why you lost. Face it buddy, smarter people prevailed and voted for the right choice. Just like in November 2016 right! In regards to the votes you claim were legally made, well, I guess even dead people can vote. Or brain dead people, depending on your perspective.

Coming onto this platform to try and insult its members and then try to seem like a reasonable person, is disingenuous. The text that you sent John paints your true person and motives for that matter. Why try to disguise that now? Oh yeah, because you were busted and now you want to try and look somewhat reasonable. Yup, I call bs on that too! You still look like a liberal tool (nice hat by the way)!

Nothing you will say or do will change the fact that 2nd Amendment isn't going anywhere! We are true gun owners, riflemen and most importantly, Patriots! We know most importantly that the weapons we posses are not toys. And we know the amount of damage an evil person can cause with them. But let me leave you with this thought, and this thought alone: you speak of war, as if you have any idea of what that means. I do and am here to tell you that a civil war is the last thing you want to have happen in your life time, or ever. But if you are serious my friend and you believe that you or your liberal friends have what it takes to destroy America, its foundation and all of its Patriots, then you bring that muzzle loading rifle to the frontline and prepare for battle. But remember this, I am a Marine, an expert riflemen, and a true patriot. And when it comes down to it, I, and many like me, will execute a one shot, one kill mentality and have the skills to see it through. I truly hope it will never come to that, but if it does, all I ask is that you say hello to Jesus for me! Or if you go to your rightful place in hell, then deliver this message to Satan for me…..GFY!

      Happy trails Hans!

    2. Such clever use of words Hans.  Yeah, I drop my deer with one shot as I don't waste foolish shots and risk losing a wounded deer.

Thank you for your service to our country.

Yes I am a proud progressive thinker….call me what you want.  I own a 12 guage, a 30-30, 410, muzzle loader, 22 rifle, 22 pistol, and am about to acquire a cross bow.  Don't make up fake news about me pal.  I know how to use them all.

We'll see who makes it through the pearly gates.

    3. Hans…here are my exit comments from my final board meeting.  I can also easily provide my supporting documents to the press for dropping out of the election.  Yeah we DO have a lot of morons around here that would vote for Adolf Hitler if he had a frigin R in front of his name.  Talk about brain dead!!!!!

Exit comments from Trustee position for final board meeting

      November 10, 2016

      By:   Mark Cornwell

I wish to thank the residents of Holly Township who voted for me in to office for the 2012/2016 term and for their votes in this past election.   It has been both an honor and privilege to serve.

I wish to congratulate Patrick Feeney.  As my seat is turned over to you please remember that this seat has been filled by two prior trustees that didn’t always agree with the majority Board opinion.  I hope you will continue to honor the belief that it is alright to ask questions.  I have brought in my Board packets from the last four years for your use.

In leaving office I have a few items that I wish to share that I felt are important to Holly Township.  They are as follows:

Adopt a formal procedure that defines how township staff raises are granted.  Cost of living increases are not received uniformly across the general public and are likely disproportionate, please consider capping them, if allowing them at all, to annual raises no greater than granted social security recipients.  COL exacerbates inflationary pressue and creates an unfair burden on those living on fixed incomes or countless others not fortunate enough to be rewarded in this manner.

Raises should be merit based with good supporting documentation validating performance.  I would suggest that changes to salaries be made public two months before the annual budget meeting, in the form of a resolution, that states the monetary change in salary from the prior year and the percentage increase.  This resolution would include each individuals increase and would reflect the total compensation package that results from such raise and includes all other paid benefits.  This resolution would be made public in all manners possible so that the public has an opportunity to review and comment.

Wage packages for all Township employees should include all benefits that come with employment and should be made line items in the compensation page on the budget for each employee so that total compensation is made clear

All township employees need to pay some percentage of their health insurance co-pay as is generally customary with most Holly Township constituents.

The duties and responsibilities of the Code Enforcement officer need to be clearly defined and closely adhered to.  At last check the Code Enforcement wages and Zoning Administrator budget line items were one.  These should be separate line items and should also include all additional compensation that is granted as a provision of that salary (health, dental, life, retirement, etc,).  Perhaps this is a position that could be jointly shared between the Village and the Township.

The Zoning Administration and Clerk positions should be evaluated to determine if they should once again be separate.

The Township Farmstead needs to have a professional evaluate the purpose of the property, its short and long term goals outlined, and costs attached to those line items so that there is not the sense that the farm is a bottomless pit for taxpayer money.

A second part of this comment is to determine the suitability of this site for a township facility as was originally considered when it was acquired.

Rather that continuing to just dump nearly $60,000 dollars a year on dust control brine, which rusts our vehicles and potentially pollutes our water, I ask the Board to once again consider discussions with the RCOC about a pilot project to test whether a gravel program could improve our roads and possibly reduce chloride applications.

Holly Township land acquisitions increased significantly over the last four years.   While they may be good investments, it is important that the basis of those properties be properly documented, including lost revenue that would have occurred in a secured financial instrument.  A summary report of all township property values and expenses to date should be made public record.

The practice of hiring outside consulting work for “special projects” should first be outlined and approved by the board if the total is expected to be more than $500.  The  Board should then seek appropriate bids from qualified and insured contractors to execute these special projects.  Final reports would accompany all “special projects” and would become part of public record.   “Special Projects” could be listed as a separate line and given an appropriation in the annual budget.  Rules and regulations regarding 1099 reporting should be followed.

Continue to strongly consider the development of a walking/biking path that connects the LAFF trail system, 7 Lakes State Park, Holly Village, Holly High School and Holly Recreation area.   The Villages bike lane efforts will make much more sense when connected to this larger trail system.

A task force should be assembled to look at township properties and develop an overall strategy to move a new township facility forward.  Significant weight should be given to the idea that these facilities would be shared to maximize efficiency between the Village of Holly and Holly Township.  A future public works facility should be a part of that future planning process.

Under no circumstances should the Township acquiesce to any of the demands or accusations in the ongoing property dispute at 1031 South Holly Road.   The Township did anything wrong and demands that the Township return the parcel in question for nothing is absurd.  This fiasco has cost the township residents thousands of dollars defending what is IMO has been a misguided lawsuit.  Granting anything more than the reasonable offers that have already been offered would be a grave injustice to all those other township residents who also lost their homes during the last decade due to illness or the economic downturn.  Sadly our County Commissioner, who has been instrumental in this long standing impediment to progress, was re-elected.

Since we can spend $40,000 of taxpayer money on a match grant to put a new foundation under an old barn to preserve our past, how about it if we invest the same amount to secure a grant to install a solar array on the NOCFA facility to help defray their expenses and begin to demonstrate numerous other options for our future to reduce our dependency on fossil fuel.

    4. The good news, Mark, is that I can load as many rounds of buckshot as I want when I'm hunting ne'er-do-wells.  I'll be thinking of you while I take my morning constitutional tomorrow.  And I'll flush the thought of your crap just like I flush the rest of it.

    1. Ooooooh! Scientists agree! I guess that renders any argument on it moot then eh? Wait don't most leftist scientists agree that there's such a thing as global warming or climate change? F*** off

  6. John,

As a non-profit, does your organization pay its officers a salary and do you have annual membership dues like the NRA?  Just curious.

  7. I know…this goes nowhere…we are both deeply entrenched in our own beliefs and will not change the others opinion and hence we will continue to be deadlocked in what has been a very counterproductive and divisive time in our nation's history …but at least as Hans hints…we are not in a civil war….or maybe we are?  We're just not shooting at each other yet….signing off.  I have a solarium to finish building.

  8. Wow, Newsweek, Mother Jones and NY Times. Those things are barely worth using for toilet paper, let alone looking for facts. Why would we waste our time with such useless garbage?

You have to work on a solarium, yet seem to have spent most of your day posting crap here? Yeah, we believe that one.

  9. My kids sometimes tried to over-explain things when they were lying.  They couldn't figure out how the old man almost always recognized the signs of deception.

Mark, sir:  You have a neon sign flashing "liar" in big, bold letters for all to see.  You take us for fools.

    1. Bingo Sam, you win the internet for the day! Then again, I've seen many of your written messages and always found you to be very insightful and very well informed.

My background is interrogations, interviews and investigations, while still serving this great nation today. What I did was "bait" Mark to see how he would respond. His written statements were what I would call in my world, precious gold. Way over explaining and a need to justify his very existence and position. The guilt runs strong with that one. Anyway, I enjoyed his responses while sipping my coffee.

Lastely, he seems to think my name is Hans. He clearly missed my reference. Maybe he should spend less time stalking GSL's members and spend an enjoyable evening watching one of my favorite Christmas movies……. Die Hard!

    2. Why thank you.

And thank you for your service, Alpha Co.

And I love how Guns Save Life triggers gun haters!

  10. Any credibility Cromwell may have had was lost with the first text he sent.  His continued texts and his posts here prove his mind is closed and only wants to sow anger among those who no part of what happened in Vegas and other places. Don't blame us for what others do or try to paint us with your bigotry.

  11. Mark comes on this site and provides links to discredited and biased reports/surveys because he is going to enlighten us rubes and we are going to join him in his elevated most learned state. And by the way, he owns six guns! WOW I am impressed.

While most of us have studied the subject for years and have seen his tripe discredited a thousand times over the years, I would suggest at the very least he read some of John Lotts stuff, but then HE would have to have an open mind…..he's a liberal, thats not going to happen. He's a hater like most liberals are and you know what haters do….

Keep calm and carry on guys!

  12. You people are the ones who have been brainwashed and are closed minded.  You couldn't be more wrong about me.  I was just pissed off when I once again saw the BS signs along the highway proclaiming guns save lives….this coming off yet another mass shooting.  Do you REALLY think I am against gun ownership?  NFW…but I doubt I could ever convince morons like you of that.

Also Here is my PROOF….Signing off….no more time wasted on trying to convince people like you that the growing majority of us just seek gun sanity.

    Dear Holly Township Residents,

I am writing to officially withdraw my name from the upcoming election for Holly Township Trustee.

It has been an honor to serve Holly Township the last four years.  I have been privileged to have served on the Holly Township Planning Commission for nearly 16 years.

The last four years have been difficult for many of our residents.  Some have lost jobs and homes, had no raises or saw reductions in salaries, had health care increases, no increase in S.S. benefits, and are struggling to pay their bills.  Tax dollars are critical are especially critical to the needy.  One must be willing to vote their conscientious, even when it runs contrary to majority opinion.

Much can be done to make Holly a greater place but will require greater citizen involvement, improved government transparency, and a willingness to look for new solutions for long entrenched problems.

    Mark Cornwell

Holly Township Trustee and Planning Commissioner

Married 41 years with two sons that are graduates of Holly High School.  Received a B.S. in Science at Michigan State University and gained additional education as a Senior Horticulturist at the University of Michigan.  At U of M I had the honor to serve as chairperson for a road salt reduction project.

I have been employed in agriculture, the landscape business and transportation sectors.  Through these experiences, the importance of environmental protection and stewardship has grown stronger.

Since starting my consulting business and being elected Trustee in 2012, those less fortunate, on fixed incomes, and who derive their income through their own means has new meaning.   Many people in our community have special needs.  A caring society looks after those who are less fortunate.

While I run as a Democrat, I consider myself an Independent.  Please judge me by my accomplishments and voting record.

Response to League of Women Voters

    Another response to LOWV

Water resource protection-Future development and business activities must assure our citizens that our freshwater systems, both groundwater and storm water, will never be compromised.

Community trail systems-Commitment to the linkage of our two state parks and High School via walking and biking safety paths will be a great asset to our community.  We also have an incredible Shiawassee River corridor that will provide wonderful recreation potential once fully developed.

           3. Township/Village relations-Since we are really one we need to act as one. Both governments should always plan and act with the others best interests always at the forefront.  We really do not need two governments to manage our affairs and through continued cooperation and good faith effort we will attain greater effectiveness and efficiency for our community.  We either muddle along with business as usual or we grow and prosper working together.

  13. On a final note/suggestion…you might want to consider not posting your meeting times and locations as someone who has lost a loved one through some gun tragedy might pop a cork and come in shooting.  Not a threat….we just live in a world growing crazier by the day.

And in conclusion…..Eat shit Little Fingers.

    1. " as someone who has lost a loved one through some gun tragedy might pop a cork and come in shooting.  Not a threat….we just live in a world growing crazier by the day. "

We've considered that scenario.  Frankly Mr. Unemployed Mark, while we always maintain situational awareness, we don't see this as a viable threat.  That's why some of our members bring their wives and kids for enjoyable evenings of food, fellowship and firearms.

Why don't we believe it a viable threat?  People who "pop a cork" attack schools and other gun-free zones like malls, and not police stations and shooting ranges.  Nutcases are generally cowards and bullies – not completely unlike yourself.

Someone rolling into one of our meeting sights with ill-intent would likely have a very quick, but exciting exit from this mortal coil.

You should be more concerned with your own safety than ours.  We can take care of ourselves.

      John

    2. More proof of your lack of credibility. You make a threat and hide behind your words. People like you are the crazies.   We know you are weak, you don't have to remind us.

  14. Mark texted me no less than 40 times in the 24 hours after this post went up.

He's now blocked from texting or calling me.

  15. I thought I remember seeing something about Hitler. Wasn't he a democrat who demanded social justice?

    1. No doubt they included the Muslim terror attacks in San Bernardino, Ft. Hood, Orlando and God knows how many other places to come up with their "body count".

      How unseamly, right?

But if their cause to ban our guns was just, why would they need deception?

Oh yeah, and those guys on September 11, 2001 killed three times that and they only had a box cutter.

You sir are a pathetic human being.
