Democratic Party of Illinois declares war on gun owners! Vows ban on America’s favorite rifle.

October 2, 2012

What would you say to a group of politicians who wanted to ban America’s favorite pastime, baseball?  But what if they claimed it was dangerous?

You would think they were pretty out of touch, wouldn’t you?  And you would be absolutely right.

Well, the Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) has declared war on everyday, law-abiding gun owners in Illinois along with America’s favorite rifle, the ubiquitous and versatile homeland defense rifle known to many as the AR-15.

The Democratic Party of Illinois proudly wears the “DEMOCRATS:  The Party of Gun Control” label in a series of mailings sent by the DPI as part of a coordinated attack on law-abiding gun owners in Illinois.

Stephanie Kifowit wants to distract prospective constituents from her party’s support of a 67% increase in the income tax rate in Illinois, the abolition of the death penalty and our state’s terrible deficit spending and instead create a strawman in the form of America’s favorite rifle. Shame on her and shame on the Democratic Party of Illinois for their war on gun owners.

The mailings suggest that owners of America’s favorite rifle are a bad hair day from shooting up their towns and cities and are a danger to their families, neighbors and communities.  Of course, the Democratic candidates are our only defense to bloodletting in our schools and on our streets with their promises to support more bans on repeating rifles and full capacity magazines.

Who runs the Democratic Party of Illinois?

Michael Madigan, the Illinois House Speaker and the chairman of the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Why don’t we have right-to-carry in Illinois?

Who has sent out these flyers in a host of Illinois districts?

Michael Madigan’s Democratic Party of Illinois.

Oh yeah, who gave us the 67% increase in personal income taxes back in 2010?

Who has given us this state’s horrendous deficit spending this last decade plus?

Who gave us the repeal of the death penalty in Illinois?

Stephanie Kifowit: “My party supports raising your income taxes 67%”.  And banning America’s favorite rifle.

Who has given us onerous fee increases, tax increases and other onerous financial burdens these last four years?

Are you seeing a pattern here?

The problem in Illinois

The problem in Illinois is Michael Madigan and the Democratic Party of Illinois.

Anyone donating to the Democratic Party of Illinois or any Democratic candidate for office are contributing to a coordinated, anti-gun political campaign to smear gun owners and to continue to infringe upon our Constitutionally-protected rights.

Donations to downstate Democrats running for the House of Representatives are effectively donations to support this sort of coordinated campaign against YOUR civil rights.

Anyone voting for a Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in Illinois is supporting a candidate who will vote for Michael Madigan as Speaker of the Illinois House and continuation of the status quo in Springfield.  We need change, not more of the same.

Irrespective of that candidate’s claimed position on right-to-carry or gun rights or other civil rights including self-defense, that candidate has far less power than Michael Madigan.

We need hope and change in the leadership of the Illinois House of Representatives.

And from that change in leadership, hopefully change will occur within the Democratic Party of Illinois to end their coordinated war on hard-working, law-abiding residents of our state.

Democratic Naomi Jakobsson gets in on the action as well, courtesy of Democratic Party of Illinois and Michael Madigan. Are you better off now than you were four years ago? If so, support more of the same tax hiking, gun banning candidates like Naomi Jakobsson.

The woman who voted to end the death penalty in Illinois’ for the most heinous crimes, and gave us a 67% tax hike says he’s concerned about our safety? How so? By banning guns used by hundreds of thousands of Illinoisans to defend and protect their families?

Marty Moylan wants to be your next tax-hiking House member. Will you give him your vote so he can raise your taxes again and take away your family’s ability to defend itself from violent predators?

Tragic news has a common theme: Illinois citizens as disarmed victims, unable to defend themselves from violent predators.

Marty Moylan and his buddies, gun hating Michael Madigan and the members and supporters of the Democratic Party of Illinois send this hit-piece out attacking his opponent Susan Sweeney.

Who was the last shooting victim of a 50 call? Or a saw? I’ll tell you, no one in the US, only at war. Fun bans are for the sole purpose of protecting government agents that want to violate you’re privacy by inspecting your home any time they choose. Stay out Democrat/Communist.

“In time of actual war, great discretionary powers are constantly given to the Executive Magistrate. Constant apprehension of War, has the same tendency to render the head too large for the body. A standing military force, with an overgrown Executive will not long be safe companions to liberty. The means of defence agst. foreign danger, have been always the instruments of tyranny at home. Among the Romans it was a standing maxim to excite a war, whenever a revolt was apprehended. Throughout all Europe, the armies kept up under the pretext of defending, have enslaved the people.
Speech, Constitutional Convention (1787-06-29), from Max Farrand’s Records of the Federal Convention of 1787, vol. I [1] (1911), p. 465

“{T]o avoid the slightest interference with the right of conscience or the functions of religion, so wisely exempted from civil jurisdiction; to preserve in their full energy the other salutary provisions in behalf of private and personal rights, and of the freedom of the press; to observe economy in public expenditures; to liberate the public resources by an honorable discharge of the public debts; to keep within the requisite limits a standing military force, always remembering that an armed and trained militia is the firmest bulwark of republics — that without standing armies their liberty can never be in danger, nor with large ones safe… ”
    — James Madison, First Inaugural Address (1809-03-04)

Second, the purpose of the armed, citizen Militia, was to serve as the ultimate check and balance against the State.
“[I]f circumstances should at any time oblige the government to form an army of any magnitude, that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms, who stand ready to defend their rights and those of their fellow citizens.”
    — The Federalist, No. 29 – Alexander Hamilton

Quick question. How many police officers are you willing to lose confiscating them? Come and Take Them.

If the State government and our elected officials are afraid of the weapons I personally own in 2012…

… This means the second amendment still works, as intended, after 221 years.

I’m glad I voted with my feet and moved away from the fascist state of Illinois. I too live in AZ where I and many other responsible individuals are trusted by our state to carry either concealed or openly.

I feel much safer here than I ever did back there.
