Daily Read

God bless my mom.  She enjoys reading the previous day's news in the dead tree.  Of course, I haven't subscribed to a newspaper since a couple of years out of college.  Frankly, newspaper subscriptions are following land-line telephones and buggy whips.

So where do I get my news each day?  For starters:

Drudge Report:  Simply the best.  Not always the fastest, but pretty close.
Gateway Pundit:
Pro-Trump news outlet that covers politics relentlessly.

For my Chicago fix:
Second City Cop:  Chicago Policeman's blog that the adminstration would LOVE to see go away.
CWBChicago:  Crime news in Chicago.  It's baaad, folks.  They cover some of the worst.

For News Analysis:
Ace of Spades HQ.  Specifically, JJ Sefton's The Morning Report.  It's up by 7am (usually) Monday through Friday.  He categorizes stories by topic after giving a summary with his own analysis. I'd pay for this.  It's that good.
Instapundit.  Glenn Reynolds' great site.  It's always cool when he links my stuff.
Liz Sheld's Morning Brief (usually goes up around 8am on Instapundit's site).  Not nearly as good as "The Morning Report" by Sefton but pretty good, plus it has the President's schedule.
The Conservative Treehouse:  Simply the best deep political analysis out there.  Sundance is a god.

The firearms world.
The Truth About Guns.  You knew I was going to mention that, right?  (In part to see what the other writers have covered.)
The Gun Feed.  The Drudge Report of the firearms world.
Guns Save Life.  Of course!
Gun Free Zone.  Is no gun free zone!

Others:
Weasel Zippers.
Legal Insurrection
Great legal info.

What's not on my short bookmark list?
Facebook and social media.

  1. Not news but you might like the Jon Miller channel on YouTube. Also the The TreeHouse News channel, YouTube. Good stuff. They both hit their targets.
