Whoopsie!

This wasn’t supposed to see the light of day.

Gabby Giffords’ anti-gun group, Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, has been cheerfully accepting illegal donations for its entire time of existence.  Illegal money?  No problem!

What else should we expect from a Gabby Giffords gun control group – an organization that’s intent upon depriving law-abiding Americans of their right to keep and bear arms by calling it a “responsible solution”.

It’s more like a final solution to unpopular segments of America should it come to pass.

Kind of like happened in Germany before World War II.

Or Russia.

Or Turkey.

Or Belgium.

Or in Cambodia after World War II.

Or in China.

Or Ethiopia, North Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Rwanda, Uganda, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Sudan, and the list goes on and on…

Back to Gabby Giffords Gun Control Group:  Now that they’ve been caught, they are pledging to return the money.

Yeah, they’re sorry alright.

Sorry they got caught.

(Public Integrity) – Singer, actress and comedian Bette Midler took to Twitter on April 18 to promote Gabby Giffords’ new gun control effort.

“GABBY GIFFORDS SPEAKS, AND SHE IS FURIOUS!!” Midler wrote as she touted a New York Times opinion column authored by the former Arizona Democratic congresswoman who survived a 2011 shooting and has since launched an advocacy group that aims to curb gun violence.

Just weeks later, Midler upped the ante, donating $10,000 to Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, the super PAC arm of Giffords’ group. The gift came from Midler’s private family foundation, according to campaign finance records.

Before the second quarter ended in June, another family foundation — the Rupa and Bharat B. Bhatt Foundation — contributed $5,000 to the group and the New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., gave $250.

They were modest contributions considering the group raised $6.6 million in the first half of 2013 — more than any other super PAC. But they were also strictly prohibited by the Internal Revenue Service.

Nonprofits organized under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the U.S. tax code are restricted from “directly or indirectly” intervening in political campaigns. And private foundations — such as the Midler and Bhatt foundations — are also prohibited from lobbying to influence legislation.

  1. There you go using the laws for groups with tea party, constitution, patriot in their charter. She gets to operate with the “other” laws for victims only.

    1. I wonder what would happen to non-liberal groups that donated to NRA-ILA? Giffords and Kelly have shown that they are in this issue merely for the money and power that they hope to gain. Both of these people are smart enough to know that they are selling false ideas that will increase violence and cause more people to die.

    1. Please explain your “crock”, do you not like it when truth is exposed about the anti-Constitutionalists? “Laws are for thee, not for me” is the mantra these low-lifes live by.

    2. Another ignorant lib with zero facts to back them They lie and name call in the face of facts.

  2. PACs (and campaigns) receive contributions from well-meaning folks all the time. Any Super PAC has a set of compliance folks which sift through these and send back those which don’t meet the law. This is SOP for a Super PAC, whether you are Gabby Giffords’ PAC, Restore Our Future, American Majority PAC or the many other Super PACs out there. You’ll see these kind of notations commonly on quarterly reports.

  3. You call yourself a Patriot….you were wounded like a million American Soldiers are every year. Its a fact of life…it comes with the “territory”. Guns are in the Constitution because our forefathers were smart enough to realize what “power” would do to men. Shame on YOU for exploiting this tragedy that happened to you. It is nothing more than a stunt to help create hysteria and enable the government to take away our 2nd Amendment Rights under the Constitution. And you call yourself an American…. 🙁

  4. If they are guilty of a crime then they should be subject to the law like everyone else, just saying they are sorry and offer to return the money is not enough, but they will get away with it. Just like her husband buying an AR-15 then quickly saying he only did it so he could show how easy it was and was going to donate it to the police department, yet he kept the 1911’s he purchased. They are a bunch of two faced liars.

  5. Perhaps Ms. Gifford should be a little less “GABBY” and take time to be bit more in tune with proper protocol.

  6. This whole reality, Gabby shot in a parking lot, when the judge was likely the real target due to his power to rule being very timely….is suspect. The whole narrative around Gabby is a by product of her being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

But here we are, he’s dead, she’s weilding power. Power derived from her reality.

    Not ours.

So, back to the story. Contributions, donations? Never let a good crisis go to waste. She is being exploited by the powers that be on a curb our rights basis. Those who count her dollars are to be hung out to dry. They lie cheat and steal to further an agenda. It’s so obvious, it’s also criminal.

    God save America.
