Instead of calling for calm and unity, President Obama set up the weekend for a time of unrest and violence in his remarks today concerning the George Zimmerman trial.  Given the heat wave gripping much of the nations, Obama’s words may as well as have been gasoline poured on a fire.

“Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago,” Obama is quoted as saying in a host of publications and media outlets.  He went on to say, “I think it’s important to recognize that the African- American community is looking at this issue through a set of experiences and a history that — that doesn’t go away.”

While some might be quick to ask if Obama is making excuses for some of the violence and ugliness committed by some black Americans since the trial began, we’re not going down that road.

We will say that we are deeply concerned about a surge in racial attacks by blacks on whites in the recent days, with attackers often touting “this is for Trayvon” during the attack.   SHTF Plan has coverage on this.   Also at “White Girl Bleed a Lot“.

If these had been gay-bashing attacks on gays, the media would be in full-tilt apoplectic mode.  If these had been racial attacks by whites on blacks – lynchings, if you will – the media and their political allies would be up in arms.

Here are the president’s remarks:

Given the persistent nature of the racial attacks and the disorderly mobs of “protesters”, who we believe to be sprinkled with criminally-inclined individuals looking for an excuse to go lawless, we’re recommending our friends and family exercise an extra level of caution this weekend.

Avoid demonstrations and groups of protesters. Screen cap from WKMG.

Wise and prudent men will avoid large, boisterous crowds and even small groups of individuals who might be trouble-makers.

Don’t find yourself in a situation that can go south quickly.

Hooligans batter a grandmother trying to take her grandchild to the hospital in a medical emergency.

Carry your firearm in a lawful manner when you leave your home.

Be prepared to defend your life and your family if you find yourself in a ‘back against the wall’ situation against offenders wanting “justice for Trayvon” at your expense.

Be prudent and be safe.

 UPDATE #1

‘Bash mobs’ sweep through Southern California

(LA Times) – Organized “bash mob” crime rampages of roving groups attacking innocent people and businesses have been striking cities around the United States. Law enforcement agencies in Southern California have reported few similar problems — until now.

In the last several days, there have been several reports of such group crime waves in South L.A., Hollywood, San Bernardino and Victorville. Long Beach police are bracing for another one Friday.

These so-called bash mobs of “flash mob” crime waves are organized through social media and have been a problem in Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington. In April, 28 Chicago youths were arrested on suspicion of attacking pedestrians along the city’s famed Magnificent Mile. Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn signed legislation in May enacting stiffer penalties for people who text or use social media to organize mob attacks.

You notice these “bash mob” types don’t ply their trade nearly as often in places where their potential victims might rapidly and promiscuously poke holes in them.

  1. “Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.”

So 35 years ago, Obama would have gotten high and jumped a “creepy ass cracka” that he didn’t know, punched him in the face, breaking his nose and knocking him to the ground, then mounting him for some MMA ground and pound while smashing his head repeatedly into the concrete? Hmm. Interesting.

    1. Actually when Obama heard that TM thought the Z man was a pickle, that’s the only time Obama wanted to be TM. Yo mister neighborhood watch fella, want to meet me in these here bushes.

  2. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and say, “Obama is a freakin’ moron!”. If he’s not a moron, then he is intentionally trying to tear this country apart. Let’s hope he’s “just” a moron, even though I’m sure his words were spoken to create civil unrest. Martial law before the weekend is over? Be prepared. Be very prepared.

  3. If your are listening or watching what it does your not really see ALL the other business it’s doing out of view.

  4. Nationwide “Justice for Trayvon” rallies Saturday July 20, 2013 at Noon. Locations: at nationalactionnetwork.net/events/563/justice-for-trayvon-national-day-of-action-vigils-in-100-cities/

  5. Dang I wish he had been Trayvon 35 years ago. Then it would be impossible for him to be president.

  6. He said if he had a son he would be treyyyyvooonnn, then he said he was treyyyvooonnn 35 years ago. Doe’s this mean that the current potus is a thug,a ghetto rat?

  7. Has anyone seen the brilliance of the Chicago PD today? Going to HAND DELIVER
letters to ppl who are suspected of shootings or are victims of shootings?!?!

OMG!!!! If I were a Chicago officer, there is NO WAYYYY I would obey this order!!!!

The world is upside friggin down!!!!!

  8. I sure the drones will not be flying over justioe for Tray vigils, today. That’s CNN,ABC,MSNBC tasking.

  9. Actually, the quotes from Obama that people here should be paying more attention to were these:

“On the other hand, if we’re sending a message as a society in our communities that someone who is armed potentially has the right to use those firearms, even if there’s a way for them to exit from a situation, is that really going to be contributing to the kind of peace and security and order that we’d like to see?
And for those who — who resist that idea, that we should think about something like these Stand Your Ground laws, I just ask people to consider, if Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk? And do we actually think that he would have been justified in shooting Mr. Zimmerman, who had followed him in a car, because he felt threatened? And if the answer to that question is at least ambiguous, then it seems to me that we might want to examine those kinds of laws.”

No one here should doubt that the people on the ‘other side’ of this debate will suddenly feel empowered by O’s remarks, push the limits, and not back away from a possible mutually armed confrontation.

After all, everyone on both sides of this manufactured and manipulated debate will say they “felt threatened” out there won’t they?

If such armed confrontations play out, then this would give Obama/Feds the excuse they need to crack down on the populace in general.

It’s too bad Paul V isn’t still alive to discuss this. I remember when he told me about some early Illinois history when racial unrest did lead to restrictions on the 2nd Amendment in IL. Don’t doubt for a second that the clock can’t be adjusted just as quickly again –with the issue forced at the federal level.

One person’s actions do make a difference. Be smart out there. As has already been advised here: avoid areas that could be problems. Also, pray that the electricity stays on.

  10. The president’s remarks were irresponsible, saying that the protests just had to work themselves out. This adds fuel to the lynch Zimmerman campaign. How can we defend Zim vs these lynch mobs? I think Zim will have to leave the country, at least for some years. Maybe he can go to Peru.

  11. Zim didn’t shoot TM because Zim felt threatened by the presence of TM. The evidence is that without having laid a hand on TM, TM was beating Zim’s head on concrete. This is not a matter of “feeling threatened because followed.” Was Zim supposed to just let TM beat him to death?

  12. WCO you are exactly right. He is a moron and he is intentionally trying to divide the country and let the people tear it apart. I never dreamed that the America I grew up in could get this off track.
The racial bs is not coming from the whites, it is the other way around.

  13. When he talks of the things he has seen, he mentions a woman clutching her purse tighter when he got on the elevator with her. Now that he’s president, I think everyone is holding on to their purses, wallets, checkbooks, piggy banks…… a whole lot tighter.
