So, inner-city Chicago is so screwed up with dysfunctional families that it’s called a “war on blacks” to prosecute and lock up perhaps 18,000 of the worst of the worst criminally violent gang members?

(Breitbart) – Chicago has been one of the most dangerous places in the country to live for the last several years with gang shootings wracking the city. To address this plague of gangs, Senator Mark Kirk (R, IL) proposed that some 18,000 gang members be rounded up and prosecuted. Now several African American leaders in Chicago are lambasting Kirk for his idea and one former gang member turned Congressman is demanding a meeting with the Senator.
…Even as it is Chicago’s African American community that has borne the brunt of the gang violence, several black leaders are banding together to claim that Senator Kirk is looking to implement a “racist” policy.
Representative Bobby Rush (D, Chicago)–himself a former member of the Black Panthers gang–called Kirk’s plan a “white boy” policy.
…Rush isn’t the only critic in Chicago’s African American community. Fred Hampton Jr., the son of slain Black Panther leader Fred Hampton Sr., is demanding Kirk abandon his plan.
Hampton is calling the plan a “war on blacks.”
Note how two of the most vocal names are themselves tied to gangs.
Any correlation?

That in its self is a bigoted statement. First, it’s not just blacks in gangs, second dumb ass is pointing a pistol at his fellow gang member. Let them wallow in the crime and killings, they don’t want to fix it.
at least the dumbass gang banger knows to keep his finger indexed and off the trigger (even if he isn’t pointing it in a safe direction).. unlike Diane Feinstein, who made both mistakes simultaneously in the now famous picture of her waving an AK-47 around.
As far as the “safe direction” … you’re not supposed to point a gun at anything you’re not willing to kill or destroy. If it’s pointed at some gangbanger POS … well … no harm no foul if it goes off!
Oh, but it’s not racist if you are defaming WHITE people? If someone had said the same thing as Bobby Rush about blacks, the world would have exploded with backlash.
How can ANY idea that is about removing gang members from society not have at least SOME merit? Actually rounding up thousands of people would require military style involvement, and I don’t think that is something anyone would like to have happen. But since the gangs have basically put a bounty out on cops in Chicago, wouldn’t you think it would be in CPD’s best interests to start braking some of this stranglehold?
These jerks are never satisfied. First the black “community” is ignored and the lack of cops is to blame for the black on black killing….then the same “community” gets law enforcement attention and its a “war on blacks” ……

Haven’t you heard of “absantee” voting? Thug criminals, especially in/around Chitcago, probably have voting machines brought into the jails/prisons and they vote after breakfast, lunch and dinner just to be sure their votes count, as opposed to the rest of us who try to get our vote counted.

All I hear from politicians like Rush and Hampton is ” why are the whitey’s always attacking the black community. If they don’t like what Kirk is proposing why don’t they come up with some idea of there own instead of complaining about what they don’t like. everytime someone try’s to come up with a solution people like these two are always ready to cry fowl. but never are able to really contribute to the solutions. I have to say that I am not sure that I agree with Kirk but atleast he is trying to do something.
