PETA (no, not People Eating Tasty Animals, but the other one that craves national media attention) is shopping around for a few good drones to fly around and harass – er, we mean “observe” – hunters.

PETA is even claiming the new drones will be armed with “impressive new weapons to combat those who gun down deer and doves”.

Yeah, aside from hunter interference being a crime in some states, we don’t imagine most PETACopters will maintain air-worthiness after digesting a load or two of #6 birdshot while harassing hunters over private lands.

It gets better.

PETA’s pathetic president Ingrid Newkirk touted that the PETA Air Force “will be used to save lives [of animals].

That’s pretty rich from the people who kill 92.4% of all of the loving dogs and cats at their animal rescue shelter…

29, 398 dogs and cats have been killed by PETA from the second half of 1998 through the end of 2012.

These are the same people who had two employees who were found guilty of “littering” after dumping freshly killed dogs and cats illegally.

PETA employees killed this puppy and other animals then dumped them illegally in North Carolina.

(PETA Kills Animals) – In May and June 2005, Ahoskie, North Carolina police officers found the bodies of dozens of dogs (including some puppies) stashed in a dumpster behind a grocery store. In the course of their investigation, the police staged a stakeout and observed two people in a van with PETA written on the side dumping animals into the dumpster.

The two individuals, both PETA staffers, were arrested and indicted on 21 counts of animal cruelty, 3 counts of obtaining property under false pretenses, and 7 counts of littering.

A few days after the arrests, local authorities told Greenville, North Carolina’s WNCT-TV News they had found more than 70 additional dead animals that may be connected to PETA.

They went to trial in January 2007.

If you ask PETA about the North Carolina trial, they will probably tell you that their staffers were acquitted of animal cruelty and obtaining property under false pretenses. That’s true; however, they were found guilty of littering.

PETA never denied killing the animals in the back of the van, nor did they deny that some of the animals were “adoptable.” They got off of the charges largely because the state statute does not specifically penalize individuals for euthanizing animals, no matter how healthy they are.

Nice bunch of people at PETA.

I think #6 shot would make an excellent choice for trespassing PETACopters.

Here’s the story from today:

(US News) – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is actively shopping for a drone that would “stalk hunters,” the organization said Monday.

The group says it will “soon have some impressive new weapons at its disposal to combat those who gun down deer and doves” and that it is “shopping for one or more drone aircraft with which to monitor those who are out in the woods with death on their minds.”

The group says it will not weaponize the drones, but will use them to film potentially illegal hunting activity and turn it over to law enforcement.

“The talk is usually about drones being used as killing machines, but PETA drones will be used to save lives,” PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk said in a statement.

  1. I hope these drones don’t fly to fast. I’m not the worlds best wing shot. I guess it’s time for practice

  2. Ummm drone soup. That thing would look good on the wall next to my deer mount’s.

  3. Won’t be long before PETA drones are shot down regularly.
Joe Biden recommends just shooting through the roof.
    😉

  4. This might be a good place to mention to be careful about the ads you see on TV with all the poor, pathetic looking puppies and kittens with captions like “why doesn’t anybody love me?” from an organization called “The Humane Society of the United States”. They aren’t affiliated with your local Humane Society, in fact they don’t rescue poor pathetic puppies and kittens either, they are an animal rights group that pushes legislation that makes things more difficult for the livestock industry to do their business. Ultimately they’d like to see everyone eating tofu and salads all day and night. So if you like your steak to come from a cow, don’t send them any money. Just a little PSA for you. 🙂
