Joe Biden is playing Monday morning quarterback, second guessing what *might* have prevented the Virginia Tech massacre, while ignoring one thing that would certainly have deterred that massacre: allowing licensed students and staff to carry the means with which to defend innocent life.
Biden: Mental Health Check May Have Prevented Virginia Tech [Massacre]
(ABC News) – Vice President Biden says a mental health check on gun sales may have averted the 2007 mass [murder] on Virginia Tech‘s campus. Biden’s comments came after a roundtable discussion in Richmond today that included experts involved with the gun control commission convened after the university tragedy.
Meanwhile the Communist Party USA whole-heartedly endorses leftist Democrats and their efforts to gun our Constitutional Rights.
Led by the hate-mongering leadership of the National Rifle Association, [gun rights advocates] use a totally fraudulent and only very recent interpretation of the Second Amendment which they falsely claim as necessary for protecting every other freedom contained in the Bill of Rights.
One of their unhinged spokesmen, Texas talk show host Alex Jones, launched a national petition drive to deport CNN commentator Piers Morgan for questioning the Second Amendment. Jones said the amendment “isn’t there for duck hunting. It’s there to protect us from tyrannical government and street thugs,” and then went on to threaten insurrection “if you try to take our firearms.”
Actually, the Second Amendment wasn’t enacted with any of these things in mind. The amendment was adopted as a means to enable the new American republic, lacking a standing army or state national guards, to muster militia to put down domestic uprisings, including slave revolts, to repulse any attempted return by the British and to deal with clashes with Native Americans on the expanding frontier.
These issues vanished long ago. The Second Amendment is obsolete and now has been twisted to threaten the basic safety and security of all Americans. There is no basis for claiming this amendment was intended to permit unregulated personal acquisition of firearms, including amassing military weapons and private arsenals for “protection” from the government. No government, especially one that is new and fragile, has ever authorized citizens to arm themselves against it.
Of course, you don’t hear about the Communist Party USA’s support for these “common sense” reductions in our Constitutional rights in the mainstream media
Meanwhile, from the violence-ridden cesspool of political corruption City of Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel is trying to distract from high violent crime rates, a lousy economy and high unemployment with”pressure” on banks to force the firearms manufactures to accept bans on the modern firearms commonly used by Americans to defend their homes and families from violent attack – including America’s favorite rifle, the AR-15.
CHICAGO (CBS) — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is putting more pressure on gun makers to get behind his push for an assault weapons ban and criminal background checks for gun purchasers.
This time, he wants to go after their bottom line.
Emanuel is pushing two major financial institutions to stop their financial backing of gun makers, unless those companies support “commonsense reforms, including requiring criminal background checks on all gun sales.”
The mayor is urging that banks to stop lines of credit, financing for acquisitions and expansions and financial advising.
Pretty tough talk from a former ballerina!

Assault Weapons Ban Lacks Democratic Votes to Pass Senate
(Bloomberg) – A proposed ban on sales of assault weapons would be defeated in the U.S. Senate today unless some members changed their current views, based on a Bloomberg review of recent lawmaker statements and interviews.
At least six of the 55 senators who caucus with Democrats have recently expressed skepticism or outright opposition to a ban, the review found. That means Democrats wouldn’t have a simple 51-vote majority to pass the measure, let alone the 60 votes needed to break a Republican filibuster to bring it to a floor vote.
Folks, if you think there are only six Democrat senators who aren’t going to support sweeping gun bans, you’re kidding yourself.
There are upwards of a dozen up for election in 2014 from very conservative states (affectionately know to the leftists as “redneckistan” regions) who are dead set opposed to this. And then there are another half-dozen Dems four to six years out from elections who won’t support this gross infringement on our Constitutional rights.
No ban on America’s favorite rifle would stand up in court (and, by the way, look for New York’s new law to be struck down) and we’ll tell you why: DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA ET AL. v. HELLER.
