In Georgia in these past few days there were two home invasions with shots fired.

One homeowner hid from the intruders with her family’s revolver.

The other homeowner hid from intruders without a firearm.  (H/t to mosinmango for the story).

Which homeowner would you be?

The folks at ICHV’s first attempt at a grassroots organization (well, the ones who aren’t Guns Save Life members) would be defenseless in this scenario.  (They’re also working to make you defenseless as well, but that’s another story for another time).

So what happened?!

Here’s what happened to the woman who hid without a home defense firearm:

Site of a home invasion in Georgia where an unarmed homeowner, hiding from home invaders, was found and shot multiple times by the intruders.

FAIRBURN, Ga. (WSB-TV) — A relative of the woman who was shot several times after she ran and hid from home invaders said she is doing OK.

But Otis Burden is hurting and angry over how the burglars were heartless to shoot a defenseless woman.

“It just tears me up that they did this to her,” Burden said.

Burden said he is hurt over what he calls the senseless, heartless actions of home invaders who shot his niece multiple times after she ran and hid from them.

“Well, you can’t have heart when you’re doing something like (that) to somebody. You can’t have a heart, know what I’m saying? Why would you do that?” he said to Channel 2’s Tom Jones outside the home on Estonian Drive.

…Detectives said Burke ran and hid.

“But the perpetrators, multiple, located her and shot her,” Detective Melissa Parker with the Fulton County Police Department said.

Here’s what happened to the woman who accessed her family’s .38 Special revolver during a home invasion then hid.  We’ll let you read about what happened next:

Home where a home intruder found an armed homeowner hiding from the intruders. The homeowner shot the intruder and escaped with her children, unharmed. Screen capture from MyFox8.com.

Loganville, GA (My Fox 8 — A Georgia mother hid her two 9-year-old twins and shot an intruder, Paul Ali Slater, several times during a home invasion on Friday, according to multiple media reports.

The Loganville mother said she didn’t initially answer when someone knocked on her door around 1 p.m. Friday. When the visitor began repeatedly ringing the doorbell, she called her husband at work, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

He then dialed 911 and his 37-year-old wife gathered their 9-year-old twins and hid them in a crawlspace inside the home.

According to the report, the intruder then forced his way into the home and started “rummaging” through the family’s belongings.

When the suspect went into the closet where the family was hiding ,the woman fired six bullets at the suspect, five of which hit alleged suspect Paul Ali Slater in the face and neck area.

“He opens the closet door and finds himself staring down the barrel of a .38 revolver,” Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The woman fled to a neighbor’s home with her children. The woman and her two children were not injured.

Great video of the second story here:

    1. As a Jewess in the US, I can only say that ANY anti-gun plan from an ignoramus like Slow Joe Biden or his dirty Kenyan boss is bound to be a loser idea. Certainly it will make all REAL Americans put our 2nd Amendment FIRST! Both criminals and overbearing governments respect FIREPOWER, not sweet talk. And remember that America wasn’t won with a registered gun!!!!

  1. God Bless her! God Bless her hubby, who rehearsed with them what to do “in case.” God Bless the prep time they spent learning how to shoot and confronting that moment that they all hoped would never come – but did.

And GOD BLESS the ISRA and GSL and the NRA for helping to defeat the gun grab this weekend in IL. Thank you folks!

Now if AR’s will only come down in price…….

  2. it’s 911 to report a crime.
    and a 1911 to stop a crime.

It is a child protection device.

    1. 18 or 19 character limit per line, Mr. E.

      How about:

      Call on 9-1-1
      to report a crime
      Call on a 1911
      to stop a crime

  3. The lady with the 38 needs a bigger gun. I would recommend a colt 1911 A-1 45 caliber automatic. U only need 1 round placed in the right place and its game over for the perp. It would seem that the armed individual that shot the perp put 6 rounds in the right place and the perp still managed to walk away. In my books that’s unsatfactory. I have seen individuals with 6 38 caliber pistol bullets in their center body mass, Thorax, abdominal cavity and still able to speak. That is unsatisfactory bullet and weapon performance

    1. I know of any number of examples of hits from a .45 proving no more effective than those from a 9mm, including one guy with three .45 hits in one lung & one in the other who kept going.
Never stop shooting until the threat is either removed or neutralised
