At least 11 people shot, 1 fatally, in early hours of new year

According to the Sun Times in Chicago, 11 people were shot hours after the new year rang in. We all know this cannot be true because of the strict ban on carrying a gun in Chicago. Had there been a legal method of carrying a concealed gun, these folks may have been able to survive.

“On New Year’s Day, 11 people were shot, one fatally, in Chicago.

Octavius Dontrell Lamb, 20, of the 700 block of North Throop, was shot to death in the 700 block of North Noble, authorities said. He died at 4:16 a.m. Tuesday.

Also on Tuesday, 10 people were wounded — one gravely — in other shootings.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the mouth and shoulder after a fight broke out at a bar on the West Side, police said.
