Fairfax, Va. (NRA-PVF) As Democrats gather in Philadelphia this week and actively misrepresent Hillary Clinton’s extreme gun control agenda, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) launched a new TV ad that makes clear what’s at stake for law-abiding gun owners in this election and highlights Clinton’s opposition to the individual right to self-protection. The ad will run nationally on cable and digitally in key battleground states.

“The Second Amendment is on the ballot this November and the individual right to own a firearm of your choosing for self-protection is at stake,” said Jennifer Baker, NRA spokesman. “Hillary Clinton cannot be trusted to keep us safe. If elected, she will pursue an extreme gun control agenda that will look to gun bans and confiscation like the program implemented in Australia.”
Here’s the ad:

The NRA is committed to setting the record straight on Clinton, and her comments speak for themselves. Clinton was caught, and recorded, at a closed-door event late last year saying, “The Supreme Court is wrong on the Second Amendment, and I am going to make that case every chance I get.”
Clinton was referring to the landmark case District of Columbia v. Heller, in which the court ruled Americans have an individual right to keep guns in their homes for self-protection — a core tenant of the Second Amendment.  If Clinton thinks the Supreme Court is wrong, then she thinks gun ownership is not an individual right.
Also late last year, Clinton said expressly at a Town Hall that an Australian-style gun ban and confiscation was ?worth looking at? in America.  Australian-style gun ban and confiscation is just as it sounds – near total confiscation of individual firearms.
“The next president will likely nominate several Supreme Court judges,? Baker said. ?If Clinton is elected, she will surely nominate judges hostile to the Second Amendment. This election is not about the next four years when it comes to gun rights – it;s about the next 40 years.”
About the ad:
The ad, which begins airing Thursday, July 28, features Kimberly Corban, a rape survivor.  Corban was a sophomore in college in 2006 when a man broke into her apartment at 5 a.m. and raped her at gunpoint.
